A person was injured in a Memorial Day shooting on eastbound Interstate 80 near the Hilltop Drive exit in Richmond, prompting authorities to shut down the freeway for more than an hour Monday evening.
The California Highway Patrol responded around 7:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting west of Hilltop Drive, according to Officer Adib Zeid.

"One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for medical treatment," Zeid said.
Officers shut down all eastbound lanes at El Portal Drive at approximately 8 p.m. Traffic was restored by 9:30 p.m., about 90 minutes after the closure began.
The CHP did not release information about a suspect or a possible motive. The investigation is ongoing.
