A vegetation fire broke out Wednesday evening along Stenmark Drive, prompting a multi-agency response that included aerial water drops before firefighters brought the blaze under control, officials said.
The fire burned on Chevron property but is believed to have originated on a public street, according to Mike Davis, battalion chief of the Chevron Fire Department.
"We had a vegetation fire that appeared to start here on Stenmark Drive, and through mutual aid with Richmond, El Cerrito and Chevron, we made efforts to put the fire out, and at this time things are looking pretty good," Davis said.
Crews from Richmond and El Cerrito joined Chevron's department under a mutual aid agreement to battle the blaze.
