Richmond's July 3 celebration – one of the city's largest annual events – brings thousands of excited locals to the waterfront each year for a day at the marina and a 20-minute fireworks spectacular, and this year was no exception.
Every conceivable parking space, and some that weren't meant to be, was filled with more groups briskly walking blocks to get close enough to view the annual display, braving the cold and blowing fog at or near Richmond's Marina Bay Park.

The event, which dates back to the late 1990s, draws groups, families, and an array of vendors to Richmond's picturesque marina each year for a day of fun in the sun, concluding with fireworks and serving as a kickoff to Fourth of July celebrations.
