What happened in Richmond: Car thefts, assaults and burglaries reported across city neighborhoods

Richmond police recorded vehicle thefts, multiple burglaries, assaults and a string of DUI arrests, according to department records. Car thefts were reported across neighborhoods from the Iron Triangle to North and East Richmond, while officers also responded to domestic violence calls, commercial break-ins and weapons-related offenses throughout the week.

Monday, May 4

Car theft: 400 block of S. 23rd Street. Someone drove a car into the dark at 5:15 a.m. and didn't look back.

Battery: 1200 block of 23rd Street. A physical altercation was reported at 8:15 a.m.

Drug paraphernalia & possession: Undisclosed location in 94801. Police arrested someone on drug charges at 8:45 a.m.

Criminal threats: 500 block of 16th Street. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 9 a.m.

Residential burglary: 900 block of Amador Street. Burglars forced their way into a residence at 10 a.m.

Court order violation, drug possession, and paraphernalia: 900 block of Triangle Court. An arrest was made for violating a court order at 10:56 a.m.

Petty theft: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. A theft was reported at 11:30 a.m.

Battery: 3000 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Someone was attacked at 12:40 p.m.

Vehicle burglary: 600 block of Sonoma Street. A vehicle was broken into and property was taken at 3:58 p.m.

Vehicle recovery: 600 block of 27th Street. Someone's stolen vehicle resurfaced at 5:52 p.m.

Car theft: Undisclosed location in 94804. A thief made a decision and acted on it at 7 p.m.

Theft of vehicle parts: 1400 block of Harbour Way South. Someone helped themselves to parts off a parked car at 7 p.m.

DUI: Undisclosed location in 94806. A driver was arrested on a DUI charge at 8:48 p.m.

Residential burglary: 100 block of Macdonald Avenue. A home was burglarized at 10:58 p.m.

Vandalism: 3600 block of Macdonald Avenue. An arrest was made after property was damaged at 11:11 p.m.

Petty theft: 5400 block of Esmond Avenue. A theft was reported at 11:58 p.m.

Tuesday, May 5

Vehicle tampering: 600 block of 33rd Street. Someone was found tampering with a parked vehicle at 2 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 3100 block of Nevin Avenue. Someone was found tampering with a parked vehicle at 3:28 a.m.

Domestic battery: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. An arrest followed a domestic dispute that turned physical at 4:14 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 200 block of S. 39th Street. A car reported missing turned up at 9:27 a.m.

Grand theft: 1400 block of Harbour Way South. A grand theft was reported at 9:59 a.m.

Petty theft: Undisclosed location in 94801. A theft was reported at 10:01 a.m.

Grand theft: Undisclosed location in 94804. A grand theft was reported at 10:59 a.m.

Petty theft: 300 block of 3rd Street. A petty theft was reported at 11 a.m.

Vehicle burglary, drugs and paraphernalia: 5300 block of Creely Avenue. An arrest was made after a vehicle was broken into at 1:04 p.m.

Grand theft: 1900 block of Meeker Avenue. A grand theft was reported at 2:20 p.m.

Criminal threats: 900 block of S. 46th Street. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 4:09 p.m.

Trespassing: 2900 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Trespassing was reported at 4:48 p.m.

Petty theft: 100 block of Harbour Way. Someone made off with property that wasn't theirs at 5 p.m.

Criminal threats: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 5:34 p.m.

Car theft: 600 block of South 26th Street. Someone took a car without permission and without much hesitation at 7 p.m.

Child abuse: 500 block of S. 28th Street. A child abuse incident was reported at 9 p.m.

Drug possession: Undisclosed location in 94801. An arrest on drug charges was made at 9:15 p.m.

Domestic battery: 800 block of Payne Drive. A domestic battery arrest was made at 10:03 p.m.

Assault with a deadly weapon, petty theft: 1500 block of Cutting Boulevard. An arrest was made after a person was assaulted with a deadly weapon at 11:17 p.m.

Car theft: 900 block of Chanslor Avenue. The street gave up another car to a thief at 11:41 p.m.

Wednesday, May 6

Car theft: 300 block of W. Bissell Avenue. It changed hands without consent at 12:08 a.m.

Negligent firearm discharge: Undisclosed location in 94801. Someone fired a gun carelessly at 12:22 a.m.

Car theft: 2500 block of Hinkley Avenue. It changed hands without consent at 12:50 a.m.

Child abuse: Undisclosed location in 94801. A child abuse incident was reported at 12:52 a.m.

Commercial burglary: 4300 block of Cutting Boulevard. A business was broken into at 6:49 a.m.

Vandalism, Battery: 5800 block of Alameda Avenue. An arrest was made after property was damaged at 9:46 a.m.

Drug paraphernalia, drug possession, marijuana possession for sale: Undisclosed location in 94801. Police arrested someone on drug charges at 10:09 a.m.

Court order violation: 400 block of 22nd Street. A court order violation was reported at 10:30 a.m.

Hit-and-run: 1600 block of Livingston Lane. A driver struck another vehicle and left without stopping at 12:30 p.m.

Petty theft: 300 block of Civic Center Street. A theft was reported at 4:22 a.m.

Grand theft, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism: 1500 block of Potrero Avenue. Property was stolen and damaged at 6:24 a.m.

Car theft: 400 block of C Street. A thief found it unattended and left with it at 10:45 a.m.

Obstruction: 1300 block of Visalia Avenue. An officer was reportedly obstructed at 11:46 a.m.

Sunday, May 10

Vandalism: 2600 block of Lowell Avenue. Property was damaged at 2:20 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 900 block of 35th Street. Someone was found tampering with a parked vehicle at 3:05 a.m.

Car theft: 4400 block of Utah Drive. A thief came for it under cover of night at 3:20 a.m.

Car theft: 300 block of S. 39th Street. A missing car was noticed at 7:35 a.m.

Car theft: 2700 block of Virginia Avenue. A thief found it unattended and left with it at 10:46 a.m.

Domestic battery, child abuse, court order violation: Undisclosed location in 94801. A domestic dispute reportedly turned violent, a child was harmed, and a court order was found to have been violated at 2:30 p.m.

Petty theft: 11900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Someone made off with property that wasn't theirs at 3:10 p.m.

Obstruction: Undisclosed location in 94801. An officer was obstructed at 5:07 p.m.

Domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse: 700 block of 9th Street. A person was assaulted with a deadly weapon during a domestic dispute in which a child was also harmed at 6:18 p.m.

Criminal threats: 400 block of 33rd Street. Someone made threatening statements serious enough to warrant a police report at 7:07 p.m.
