What happened in Richmond: Attempted homicide, armed robberies and 11 stolen cars

An attempted homicide, two armed robberies and 11 vehicle thefts were among the incidents Richmond police logged between July 13 and 19, according to information released by the Richmond Police Department. The week's reports also included domestic violence, criminal threats, multiple DUI arrests and several suspects allegedly found carrying illegal firearms, including machine guns and an assault weapon.

Monday, July 13

Vandalism and parts theft: Somewhere in the 94804 zip code. Someone stripped parts off a vehicle at midnight.

Visalia vehicle vanishing: 1500 block of Visalia Avenue. A car went missing at 1:39 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 600 block of 31st Street. A vehicle was tampered with at 3:26 a.m.

Felon caught with a firearm: 2300 block of Aberdeen Way. Officers arrested a felon on gun and parole violation charges, including illegal possession of an assault weapon and ammunition, at 8:21 a.m.

Vehicle recovered: 4100 block of Ohio Avenue. A stolen car was recovered at 8:34 a.m.

Car theft: 200 block of Tewksbury Avenue. Another car went missing at 9:09 a.m.

Parts theft: Central Avenue. Another vehicle got picked over for parts at 11 a.m.

Sexual assault reported: 800 block of Brookside Drive. A report of drugging and sexual assault was logged at noon.

Vandalism: 5100 block of Creely Avenue. A felony-level vandalism report came in at 1 p.m.

Grand theft: West Barrett Avenue. Someone reported items stolen from a building at 2:27 p.m.

Felon with guns: 1000 block of South 47th Street. Police arrested a suspect carrying a concealed, loaded, unregistered handgun along with a machine gun and ammunition, resisting officers in the process, at 2:45 p.m.

Petty theft: 4900 block of Macdonald Avenue. A theft report came in at 3:30 p.m.

Battery: Somewhere in the 94801 zip code. Officers took a battery report at 3:53 p.m.

Drugs for sale: Somewhere in the 94805 zip code. A suspect was arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled substances for sale at 4:23 p.m.

Public fight: Somewhere in the 94804 zip code. A fight in a public place was reported at 4:50 p.m.

Domestic battery: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. A late-night report of battery between spouses or dating partners came in at 10:35 p.m.

Tuesday, July 14

Trespassing arrest: 200 block of 28th Street. Someone was arrested for refusing to leave a property at 7:47 a.m.

Threats and vandalism: 2600 block of Hilltop Drive. A felony criminal-threats charge, along with vandalism, was reported at 9:56 a.m.

Criminal threats: 6000 block of Giant Road. Another threat complaint followed at 11:29 a.m.

Hit-and-run: Somewhere in the 94805 zip code. A driver failed to stop after a property-damage collision, reported at 11:53 a.m.

Open alcohol violation: Macdonald Avenue. A quality-of-life alcohol violation was reported at 12:30 p.m.

Forgery: 100 block of 2nd Street. A forgery report came in at 1 p.m.

Petty theft: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Another theft was reported at 1:29 p.m.

Grand theft: 1100 block of 23rd Street. A theft report came in at 4 p.m.

Commercial burglary: 100 block of Harbour Way. Officers arrested a burglar for breaking into a business at 2:36 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 2000 block of Barrett Avenue. Another car was messed with at 6:46 a.m.

Vehicle recovered: Somewhere in the 94805 zip code. A stolen car turned up at 10:53 a.m.

Stealership: 3200 block of Auto Plaza. A car was reported stolen at 11:34 a.m.

Custody violation: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. A custody decree violation was reported at 4:59 p.m.

Felon with a firearm: 1400 block of Maine Avenue. Officers took a report of a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, along with felony narcotics possession at 1:45 a.m.

Armed robbery: somewhere in the 94801 zip code. A robbery with a dangerous weapon was reported at 4:30 a.m.

McBryde Avenue disappearance: 3600 block of McBryde Avenue. A car was stolen at 10:49 a.m.

Assault and domestic violence: 600 block of South 31st Street. Officers took a report of an aggravated assault involving possible great bodily injury, along with a domestic violence charge, at noon.

Police evasion: 3200 block of Pullman Avenue. A driver fled from officers with a wanton disregard for safety at 8:58 p.m.
