Richmond police logged a homicide, a sexual assault on the Bay Trail and a shooting at an occupied building between May 25 and May 31, a week that also included 22 vehicle thefts across the city, according to department data.

Monday, May 25

Car theft: 2600 block of Esmond Avenue. A thief came for it in the quiet of the night and was gone before the street stirred at 3:07 a.m.

Carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, car theft, possession of a stolen vehicle: 500 block of Duboce Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a person was forced from their vehicle at gunpoint, assaulted, and the car taken at 6:40 a.m. The stolen vehicle was later recovered with the suspect still in it.

Vehicle tampering: 500 block of S. 18th Street. Someone was found with their hands on a parked vehicle at 9:19 a.m.

Illegal firearm possession: Undisclosed location in 94801. Police arrested a suspect found carrying a firearm they had no legal right to have at 10:14 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 2600 block of Wendell Avenue. A stolen car turned up at 10:44 a.m.

Domestic battery, vandalism: 5100 block of Mulligan Court. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned violent and property was damaged at 11:02 a.m.

Commercial burglary: 1900 block of Meeker Avenue. Someone broke into a business at 11:41 a.m.

Battery: 100 block of 4th Street. A person was attacked at 1:59 p.m.

Car theft: 600 block of 5th Street. Someone drove away with a car that wasn't theirs at 5 p.m.

Criminal threats: 600 block of 26th Street. Words were spoken that crossed from angry into criminal at 5:35 p.m.

Robbery: 1300 block of Garvin Avenue. A person was robbed late in the evening at 11:43 p.m. 

Tuesday, May 26

Identity fraud: 2600 block of Foothill Avenue. Someone was using another person's identity at midnight.

Assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, child abuse: 3800 block of Fleming Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a dispute at 3:18 a.m.

Vandalism: 1300 block of Esmond Avenue. Just ahead of dawn, someone left damage on property that wasn't theirs at 5:25 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 3100 block of Southampton Court. A person was found working over a car at 8:26 a.m.

Car theft: 600 block of 24th Street. A thief found a car unattended and decided to keep it moving at 8:40 a.m.

Vandalism: 700 block of Juliga Woods Street. Someone's morning contribution to the block was property damage reported at 9 a.m.

Car theft: 100 block of 4th Street. Another car taken, same street as the day before's battery, at 9:11 a.m.

Criminal threats: 600 block of Berk Avenue. Threats were made at 10:59 a.m. that rose to the level of a crime.

Vandalism: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. Property was damaged at 1 p.m.

Petty theft: 2100 block of Nevin Avenue. Something small was taken at 3:20 p.m. 

Vandalism: 2300 block of Clinton Avenue. Someone damaged property at 4:02 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia: Carlson and Cutting boulevards. Police arrested a suspect found with the tools of a habit at 4:37 p.m.

Exhibiting a firearm: Undisclosed location in 94806. A person was reported for brandishing a weapon at 4:43 p.m.

Vandalism: 900 block of W. Cutting Boulevard. Property was damaged at 4:56 p.m.

Car theft: 100 block of S. 33rd Street. A thief took it as the evening came on at 5 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia, trespassing: 900 block of W. Cutting Boulevard. Police arrested a suspect found on property they had no right to be on, carrying drug paraphernalia, at 6:39 p.m.

Domestic battery: 100 block of Marina Way. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned physical at 7:51 p.m.

Vandalism: 2900 block of San Luis Street. Property was damaged at 8 p.m.

Car theft: 100 block of 17th Street. A thief helped themselves to a car at 8:20 p.m. 

Kidnapping, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, domestic battery, false imprisonment: Brickyard Cove Road. Police filed charges, including kidnapping, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, domestic battery, and false imprisonment, in connection with an incident reported at 8:40 p.m.

Kidnapping, domestic battery, child abuse, obstruction: 2700 block of Jo Ann Drive. Police arrested a suspect after a person was reportedly kidnapped, a child was harmed, and the suspect fought with officers at 9:24 p.m.

Wednesday, May 27

Disorderly conduct: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Someone caused a disturbance at 12:46 a.m. and made it everyone else's problem.

Sexual assault: San Francisco Bay Trail. A person was reportedly sexually assaulted on the Bay Trail at 1 a.m. 

Vehicle burglary: 1800 block of Santa Clara Street. A parked car was broken into at 4:17 a.m. while the neighborhood slept.

Vandalism: 500 block of S. 30th Street. Property was damaged at 6 a.m., just as the day was starting.

Vandalism: 2900 block of San Luis Street. The same block as Tuesday's vandalism, hit again at 6:30 a.m.

Petty theft: 11900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Something was taken at 9 a.m. 

Criminal threats, disorderly conduct: 1500 block of Cutting Boulevard. Police arrested a suspect after threats were made and a disturbance created at 10:50 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 10400 block of San Pablo Avenue. A stolen car surfaced at 12:53 p.m.

Grand theft: 300 block of W. Macdonald Avenue. A significant theft was reported at 1:51 p.m.

Vandalism: Railroad Avenue. Property was damaged at 2:45 p.m.

Car theft: 200 block of Curry Street. A thief took a car at 5 p.m. and drove it somewhere it didn't belong.

Theft of vehicle parts: 5700 block of Highland Avenue. Parts were stripped from a parked vehicle at 5 p.m. 

Drug possession, trespassing: 2600 block of Lancaster Drive. Police arrested a suspect found on property they had no right to be on, with drugs, at 7:18 p.m.

DUI: Undisclosed location in 94804. Police arrested a driver found behind the wheel in no condition to be there at 8:07 p.m.

Domestic battery: 1500 block of Wright Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned physical at 9:05 p.m.

Car theft: Monterey Street. A car disappeared from the street at 10 p.m.

Robbery, battery: 2600 block of Hilltop Drive. A person was robbed and beaten at 11:02 p.m.  

Thursday, May 28

Car theft: 2700 block of Gaynor Avenue. A thief took it at midnight.

DUI: Undisclosed location in 94804. A driver was stopped at 1:37 a.m. still on the road and over the limit.

Vandalism: 2500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Property was damaged at 3:01 a.m. 

Vehicle burglary: 4500 block of Fran Way. A parked car was broken into at 7:09 a.m.

Vandalism: 5000 block of Cutting Boulevard. Someone left their mark on property at 8:51 a.m.

Car theft: 600 block of 15th Street. A thief took it at 9:14 a.m. 

Petty theft: 4700 block of Hartnett Avenue. Something was taken at 9:28 a.m.  

Domestic battery, car theft: 100 block of Marina Way. A domestic dispute at 10 a.m. ended with someone hurt, and the other party leaving in a stolen car.

Vandalism: 2100 block of Nevin Avenue. Property was damaged at 10:15 a.m.

Drug paraphernalia: Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested a suspect found with drug paraphernalia at 10:53 a.m.

Theft of vehicle parts: 300 block of 9th Street. A thief stripped parts off a parked vehicle at 11:01 a.m.  

Vehicle recovery: Undisclosed location in 94804. A stolen vehicle turned up at 11:26 a.m.

Grand theft: 100 block of W. Macdonald Avenue. A theft of consequence was reported at 6:22 p.m.

Court order violation: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. Someone violated a court order at 7:36 p.m. 

Domestic battery: 400 block of Marina Way S. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned violent at 8:30 p.m.

Convicted felon with guns and intentions: 12500 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police arrested a suspect found armed with multiple firearms, making criminal threats at 9:55 p.m. 

Vehicle burglary, vandalism: 3200 block of Pierce Street. A car was broken into and damaged at 10:08 p.m. 

Shooting at an inhabited dwelling, assault with a firearm: 300 block of Marina Way S. Someone opened fire on an occupied building at 10:24 p.m.  

Friday, May 29

Car theft: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. A thief worked in the early dark at 1:30 a.m. and left with a car that wasn't theirs.

Car theft: 800 block of 34th Street. Another car taken in the hours before dawn at 4:03 a.m.  

Vehicle tampering: 1300 block of Cherry Street. A person was found at 4:45 a.m. with their hands on a vehicle that didn't belong to them.

Vandalism: Harbour Way. Property was damaged at 10:54 a.m.

Battery: 5000 block of Valley View Road. A person was attacked at 1 p.m.

Trespassing: 12400 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police arrested a suspect found where they had no right to be at 1:08 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested a suspect who caused a disturbance and was found with drug paraphernalia at 3:12 p.m.

Court order violation: Undisclosed location in 94804. A court order was violated at 5:13 p.m. — quietly, as these things often are.

Murder: 200 block of W. Nevin Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a person was killed at 6:26 p.m. The homicide is under investigation.

Richmond police arrested a murder suspect within hours of a fatal shooting Friday evening, crediting swift investigative work and a partnership with a neighboring police department. Officers responded at approximately 6:27 p.m. to the 200 block of West Nevin Avenue after reports of gunshots and a person down.

Car theft: 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. A car was taken at 6:52 p.m.  

Assault with a deadly weapon: 900 block of W. Cutting Boulevard. A person was attacked with a weapon at 8:32 p.m.

Grand theft: 100 block of Park Place. A significant theft was reported at 10 p.m.

Battery: 600 block of Griffin Drive. A person was attacked at 11:34 p.m.

Saturday, May 30

Domestic battery: 3600 block of Wall Avenue. A household dispute turned physical at midnight.

Car theft: 400 block of S. 20th Street. A thief took it at 1 a.m.  

Car theft: 1200 block of 28th Street. Another car went missing at 6 a.m. 

Car theft: 3600 block of Ohio Avenue. A thief had it gone by 8:05 a.m. 

Possession of stolen property: 800 block of Wilson Avenue. Property reported stolen elsewhere turned up at 9:02 a.m.

Domestic battery: 3600 block of Bissell Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned violent at 9:54 a.m.

Car theft: 400 block of S. Garrard Boulevard. A car was taken at 10:16 a.m.  

Car theft: 900 block of 18th Street. Someone drove away with a car that didn't belong to them at 11:20 a.m.

Theft of vehicle parts: 3300 block of Cutting Boulevard. Parts were stripped from a parked vehicle at 1:22 p.m.

Sexual assault: 12000 block of San Pablo Avenue. A sexual assault was reported at 4:11 p.m.

Battery: 4300 block of Potrero Avenue. A person was attacked at 4:45 p.m.

Vandalism: Washington Avenue. Property was damaged at 5:50 p.m. 

Sunday, May 31

Sexual battery, battery, disorderly conduct: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. Police arrested a suspect after a sexual battery and physical assault were reported at 1:19 a.m.

DUI, driving on a suspended license: Undisclosed location in 94804. Police arrested a suspected drunk driver who was also driving on a suspended license at 2:56 a.m.

Petty theft: 1200 block of Macdonald Avenue. Something small was taken at 7:20 a.m. from someone it belonged to.

Car theft: 1700 block of Hellings Avenue. A thief took it early Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Vehicle burglary: 200 block of Ohio Avenue. A parked car was broken into at 10:02 a.m. 

Theft from building: 1200 block of Melville Square. Someone took property from inside a building at 10:45 a.m. 

Criminal threats, stalking: 2900 block of Humphrey Avenue. Police arrested a suspect found to have been stalking a person and making criminal threats at 11:56 a.m.

Vandalism: 3800 block of Waller Avenue. Property was damaged at 1:58 p.m.  

Vehicle recovery: Undisclosed location in 94804. A stolen car was found at 3:09 p.m. 

Car theft: 2800 block of Rheem Avenue. A thief spotted an opening in the afternoon at 4 p.m. 

Robbery: Undisclosed location in 94804. A person was robbed at 6:02 p.m.
