Crime in the City
One person is dead, and another is expected to survive after a stabbing late Tuesday in the 1700 block of Wood Place, according to the Richmond Police Department.
Dispatchers received a report of a stabbing at approximately 11:18 p.m. Officers and medical personnel responded and found two victims with stab wounds. Both were taken to a hospital, where one later died. The second victim is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Richmond police have not released the identity of the person who died.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Police said that based on the information available, they believe the stabbing was an isolated incident and that there is no active threat to the community. No suspect information has been released.
