The Craneway Pavilion, a historic waterfront venue at the center of a recent dispute, will open its doors Saturday night for what organizers are calling the "biggest hip-hop and R&B party in the Bay Area."

Noise Complaints, a DJ collective celebrating its second anniversary, is bringing multi-platinum producer London On Da Track to Craneway Pavilion on May 23 for an event that has already sold through its lowest-priced ticket tier. General admission tickets start at $50, with VIP and on-stage access options reaching $123.

The show comes as the future of the 45,000-square-foot venue remains uncertain. A restored 1931 Ford Assembly Plant set along 25 waterfront acres on the Richmond shoreline, the Craneway Pavilion was the subject of an April Richmond City Council vote that rejected a proposal to accept the donated leasehold interests from current leaseholder Orton Entertainment LLC, citing an estimated $12.7 million in deferred maintenance costs and projected annual operating deficits of up to $2.5 million.

The 3-4 vote left the fate of the bay-front property uncertain, with Orton indicating he intended to transfer the leasehold interests to an unidentified marine-use entity if the city declined the offer.

For now, the show goes on. London On Da Track, known for production credits with Drake, Future, and Young Thug, headlines a lineup that also includes Miles Medina, alongside DJs Babyvaye, Kaos, and Edel. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 21-and-over event, which runs through 11 p.m.

The property sits on city-owned land at 1414 Harbour Way South, part of the former Ford Assembly Building complex that produced nearly 49,000 vehicles during World War II and was redeveloped in the early 2000s with nearly $20 million in public and grant funds.

Saturday's event is being billed as the loudest party on the bay. Whether the building remains a venue for many more like it is a question Richmond has yet to answer.
