Richmond police responded to a homicide early last Monday morning on Bissell Avenue and numerous violent crimes, property thefts, and drug-related offenses throughout the following week from November 17–23. Incidents across multiple neighborhoods included assaults, burglaries, carjacking, and human trafficking allegations.

Monday, November 17
Unauthorized joyride: 2400 block of Lowell Avenue. A vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at 1:58 a.m.
Shooting: 1400 block of Bissell Avenue. A murder occurred at 5:55 a.m.

Vandalism: In the 94801 zip code. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 10:03 a.m.
Sex crime: 600 block of 15th Street. A sex crime was reported at 10:15 a.m.
Vandalism and drug violations: 2500 block of Chanslor Avenue. Police arrested someone on destruction of property charges after discovering property damage, unlawful paraphernalia, and controlled substances at 10:26 a.m.
Vehicle recovery: 0-100 block of 12th Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 11:16 a.m.
Petty theft: 5400 block of Huntington Avenue. A theft occurred at 3:44 p.m.
Street sweepstakes: 3100 block of Moyers Road. A vehicle was stolen at 3:50 p.m.
Residential burglary and drug violations: 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Police arrested someone on burglary charges after a home was entered without force, and unlawful paraphernalia and controlled substances were discovered at 5:26 p.m.
Vehicle violation: In the 94801 zip code. A vehicle was shown on its side with a police officer in full view at 5:47 p.m.
Lost and found: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested someone on vehicle theft charges after a vehicle was taken without consent at 6:08 p.m.
Battery: 4000 block of Florida Avenue. Police arrested someone on simple assault charges after a battery on a person occurred at 7 p.m.
Child abuse: 2200 block of Coalinga Avenue. Police arrested someone on aggravated assault charges after someone inflicted injury upon a child at 9:52 p.m.
Human trafficking, kidnapping, and robbery: 400 block of 4th Street. A strong-arm robbery, human trafficking to obtain forced labor or service, false imprisonment with violence, kidnapping, and pimping were reported at 10:05 p.m.
Tuesday, November 18
Robbery: 1500 block of Carlson Boulevard. A first-degree robbery in an inhabited dwelling occurred at 1 a.m.
Assault: 2200 block of Hilltop Mall Road. An assault with a deadly weapon occurred at 3:05 a.m.
Vandalism: 700 block of 7th Street. Property was damaged at 8:32 a.m.
Deadly weapon display and assault: 2500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested someone on aggravated assault charges after a deadly weapon was exhibited and an assault with a deadly weapon was committed at 10:20 a.m.
Vehicle recovery: 2000 block of Hellings Avenue. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 10:58 a.m.
Petty theft and drug violations: 3400 block of Blume Drive. Petty theft occurred, and controlled substances and unlawful paraphernalia were discovered at 11:15 a.m.
Assault: 3000 block of Hilltop Mall Road. An assault with a deadly weapon occurred at 3 p.m.
Firearm discharge: 600 block of 31st Street. A firearm was willfully discharged in a grossly negligent manner at 3:26 p.m.
Petty theft: 5200 block of Creely Avenue. Theft from a motor vehicle occurred at 3:59 p.m.
Residential burglary and vandalism: 600 block of S 52nd Street. A home was forcibly entered, and property damage valued at $400 or more occurred at 4:07 p.m.
Assault and residential burglary: 1300 block of Monterey Street. An assault with a deadly weapon occurred, and a home was forcibly entered at 4:57 p.m.
Grand theft: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Grand theft shoplifting was reported at 5:07 p.m.
DUI: In the 94804 zip code. Police arrested someone on driving under the influence charges at 7:48 p.m.
Vehicular disappearing act: 3000 block of O Brien Road. A vehicle was taken without consent at 8 p.m.
Multiple charges: 1500 block of Oscar Street. Cruelty to a child with possible injury, a loaded firearm carried in public, harm of an elder or dependent adult, willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, and removal of firearm identification were discovered at 8:27 p.m.
Assault with a firearm: 19th Street. An assault with a firearm on a person was reported at 10:53 p.m.
Wednesday, November 19
Vandalism: 600 block of Humboldt Street. A wireless communication device was damaged or destroyed at midnight.
Firearm discharge: 1800 block of Chanslor Avenue. Someone shot at an inhabited dwelling, vehicle, or other structure at midnight.
Commercial burglary: 1400 block of Marina Way South. A commercial property was entered at 12:46 a.m.
Vandalism: 2900 block of Oxford Avenue. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 1:58 a.m.
Vandalism: 100 block of South 7th Street. Property was defaced at 2:06 a.m.
Impromptu test drive: 1700 block of San Joaquin Street. A vehicle was stolen at 2:30 a.m.
Car redistribution: 300 block of S 36th Street. A vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at 2:30 a.m.
Drive now, ask never: 4100 block of Ohio Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 5:02 a.m.
Vandalism: 3000 block of Research Drive. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 6:30 a.m.
Residential burglary: 1000 block of Trailside Drive. A home was forcibly entered at 7:11 a.m.
Battery: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. A battery on a person occurred at 7:24 a.m.
Battery: In the 94801 zip code. A battery on a person was reported at 9:39 a.m.
Vandalism: 1000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Property damage valued at $400 or more occurred at 9:49 a.m.
Parts theft: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories was reported at 12:15 p.m.
Trespassing: 800 block of Marina Bay Parkway. Police arrested a trespasser at 1:11 p.m.
Domestic battery, contempt, and stalking: 3100 block of Southampton Court. A report was made alleging domestic battery, a violation of a court order, and stalking at 1:45 p.m.
Trespassing: 1000 block of Market Avenue. Trespassing was reported at 5:25 p.m.
Vandalism: 5600 block of Panama Avenue. Property damage valued at $400 or more occurred at 6:53 p.m.
Domestic violence: 900 block of 20th Street. Someone allegedly inflicted corporal injury on a spouse, cohabitant, or dating partner at 10 p.m.
False emergency report and hit-and-run: 3300 block of Park Ridge Drive and intersection of 23rd Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Officers arrested someone after a false report of an emergency was filed, and a hit-and-run resulting in an injury occurred at 10:40 p.m.
Thursday, November 20
Theft from vehicle: 700 block of West Cutting Boulevard. Grand theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 7:11 a.m.
Grand theft: 200 block of Harbour Way South. A theft occurred at 7:55 a.m.
Residential burglary: 3000 block of Tulare Avenue. A home was entered without force at 8:10 a.m.
Vandalism: 2600 block of San Mateo Street. Property was defaced at 9 a.m.
Vandalism and drug paraphernalia: In the 94801 zip code. Police arrested someone on vandalism charges and also discovered unlawful paraphernalia at 10:57 a.m.
Petty theft: 1400 block of Marina Way South. A theft was reported at 2:04 p.m.
Privacy invasion: 600 block of 5th Street. Someone invaded privacy using an electronic tracking device at 2:09 p.m.
Vehicle recovery: 2000 block of Factory Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 2:52 p.m.
Borrowed without asking: 600 block of 23rd Street. A vehicle was taken without consent at 3:30 p.m.
Unscheduled vehicle relocation: 1500 block of Nevin Plaza. Another vehicle was stolen at 4 p.m.
Elder abuse: 900 block of View Drive. Police arrested someone on simple assault charges after receiving reports of cruelty and battery of an elderly or dependent adult at 4:10 p.m.
Commercial burglary: 100 block of Ohio Avenue. A commercial property was forcibly entered at 4:34 p.m.
Child cruelty, domestic violence and assault: 200 block of 1st Street. Police arrested someone on aggravated assault charges after receiving reports of cruelty on a child, domestic violence, and an assault with a deadly weapon at 5:04 p.m.
Battery: 1100 block of 23rd Street. Two were arrested after an assault was reported at 5:52 p.m.
The vanishing sedan: 3500 block of El Portal Drive. A vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at 8:23 p.m.
Gone in 60 seconds: 900 block of Humboldt Street. A vehicle was stolen at 9 p.m.
DUI: 1400 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Police arrested someone on driving under the influence charges at 9:16 p.m.
Grand theft: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Grand theft shoplifting was reported at 9:52 p.m.
Disorderly conduct: 500 block of Ohio Avenue. Police arrested someone on drug or narcotic violations charges after responding to disorderly conduct involving alcohol at 11:39 p.m.
Sex crime: 200 block of 1st Street. A sexual assault was reported at 11:41 p.m.
Friday, November 21
Domestic battery and deadly weapon display: 500 block of Wine Street. Police picked up someone suspected of domestic violence and exhibiting a deadly weapon at 12:10 a.m.
Deadly weapon display: 4200 block of Macdonald Avenue. Someone exhibited a deadly weapon other than a firearm at 2 a.m.
Vandalism: 1500 block of Carlson Boulevard. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 2:46 a.m.
Hot wheels: 2700 block of Foothill Avenue. A vehicle was taken without consent at 8:35 a.m.
Drug possession: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested someone on drug violations charges after discovering marijuana for sale at 8:52 a.m.
Drug paraphernalia: In the 94804 zip code. Police arrested someone on drug equipment violations charges after discovering unlawful paraphernalia at 10:55 a.m.
Counterfeiting: 12200 block of San Pablo Avenue. Someone was found with counterfeit gold or silver coins at 11 a.m.
Battery: 5100 block of Gately Avenue. A battery on a person occurred at 11:44 a.m.
Battery on school campus: 3000 block of Hilltop Mall Road. An assault on a school campus was reported at 1:10 p.m.
Domestic violence: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. An individual was arrested on aggravated assault charges following a reported incident of domestic violence at at 5:50 p.m.
Curb-side commandeering: 100 block of 3rd Street. A vehicle was stolen at 8 p.m.
Criminal threats: 1300 block of Monterey Street. Someone threatened a crime with the intent to terrorize at 8:51 p.m.
Saturday, November 22
Mystery road trip: 800 block of Brookside Drive. A vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at midnight.
Auto burglary: 600 block of 31st Street. A vehicle was broken into at 2:30 a.m.
Fast and the Felonious: 4600 block of Potrero Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 2:38 a.m.
Extortion: 800 block of Meadow View Drive. Extortion was reported at 2:42 a.m.
Assault: 400 block of 46th Street. Assault with force causing possible great bodily injury occurred at 6:05 a.m.
Vehicle recovery: 500 block of Castro Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 8:25 a.m.
DUI causing injury: In the 94805 zip code. DUI alcohol causing bodily injury was reported at 11:39 a.m.
Domestic battery: 2400 block of Lancaster Drive. A battery involving a spouse, ex-spouse, or dating partner was reported at 12:17 p.m.
Vehicle recovery: 1300 block of 25th Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 1:28 p.m.
Identity fraud: 1800 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Someone pretended to be another to get money at 2:57 p.m.
Commercial burglary: 4000 block of Lakeside Drive. A commercial property was entered without force at 4:35 p.m.
Carjacking with firearm and assault: In the 94804 zip code. A carjacking with a firearm and assault with a firearm on a person occurred at 6:11 p.m.
Fireworks Complaints: Police received 11 separate calls reporting fireworks in multiple locations throughout the city. Reports came in from residents on Gilma Drive, Macdonald Avenue, Nevin Avenue, Park Ridge Drive, Visalia Avenue, Regents Court, Jo Ann Drive, 7th Street, Rheem Avenue, and 29th Street. All calls were received starting at approximately 10:58 p.m. Officers responded to the area to investigate. No arrests were reported.
Robbery and elder theft: 1200 block of Macdonald Avenue. A strong-arm robbery and theft from a dependent adult was reported at 11:25 p.m.
Sunday, November 23
Firearm discharge: In the 94804 zip code. A firearm was willfully discharged in a grossly negligent manner at 12:42 a.m.
Parking space surprise: 400 block of Golden Gate Avenue. A vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at 1:00 a.m.
Child abuse and domestic violence: 700 block of Barrett Avenue. Someone reportedly inflicted injury upon a child and inflicted injury on a spouse at 1:12 a.m.
Credit card fraud: 1000 block of S 47th Street. Theft by use of access card information was reported at 1:40 a.m.
DUI and restricted license violation: Intersection of 23rd Street and Lincoln Avenue. Police found a driver under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher while their license was restricted for DUI at 2:04 a.m.
Child cruelty and domestic violence: 300 block of South 18th Street. Someone else reportedly inflicted cruelty on a child and inflicted corporal injury on a spouse or dating partner at 5:39 a.m.
Disorderly conduct: 2500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Disorderly conduct involving alcohol was reported at 12:44 p.m.
Domestic violence and child cruelty: 100 block of 9th Street. Someone was said to have inflicted corporal injury on a spouse or dating partner and inflicted cruelty on a child at 1:20 p.m.
Drug conspiracy: Intersection of Macdonald Avenue and 20th Street. Someone possessed marijuana for sale and conspired to commit a crime at 2:05 p.m.
Child cruelty and domestic battery: 5200 block of Esmond Avenue. Even more reports of people inflicting cruelty on a child and battery against a spouse, ex-spouse, or dating partner at 2:40 p.m.
Domestic violence court order violation: 13200 block of San Pablo Avenue. Someone reportedly violated a court order to prevent domestic violence at 2:46 p.m.
Assault: 1000 block of Cutting Boulevard. An assault with a deadly weapon occurred at 3:09 p.m.
Credit card fraud: 1500 block of Carlson Boulevard. Theft by use of access card information was reported at 3:41 p.m.
Hit-and-run: Intersection of 23rd Street and Macdonald Avenue. A hit-and-run resulting in injury occurred at 8:36 p.m.
DUI: Unspecified location in the 94804 zip code. Someone drove under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher at 8:36 p.m.
Vandalism: 500 block of 19th Street. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 10:00 p.m.
Arson: Unspecified location in the 94801 zip code. More property was set on fire at 10:22 p.m.
