Richmond has something for everyone, and this week is no exception! Kicking off the season with ten fun events sure to get you in the spirit, including two fabulous holiday tree lighting events, a craft fair, and Pt. Richmond's own special tradition: the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Shoot!

There will be a 5K and 10K, as well as the Little Turkeys Race: a run for the kids (roughly 100 yards) against the Nitro Turkey. Children (10 and under) attending with 5K/10K runners will receive free entry into Little Turkeys and receive special medals and a goodie bag. A FABULOUS TRIO OF SEASONED JAZZ MUSICIANS For a post-Thanksgiving treat, saxophonist Bryan Girard will be joined by two long-time musical compatriots—Mark Rossi on the piano and bassist Karl Hartmann. Together, they explore new paths through rarely-played gems from the standard jazz canon and include a variety of genres. The music is mostly laid-back and well-suited to the indoor ambiance of this very cool venue. Support local musicians - $5.00

The People vs. Mona is a love story, murder mystery, courtroom shenanigans, fate-of-a-small-town-hanging-on-the-verdict musical. Mona Mae Katt is accused of murdering her husband on their wedding night. The resulting trial brings out the worst and the funniest of the citizens in the tiny town of Tippo. Single tickets are $30. Seniors and students save 10%. November 25 & 26, 10 am - 5 pm

Eric Carlstrom lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. His use of bright colors and heavy black in his paintings makes them visually vibrant and gives them a distinctive look. Eric paints mostly in acrylic, but he doesn't limit himself when it comes to expression in his art. He also works in clay, paper mache, plaster, and watercolor and makes assemblage sculptures and paints on found objects. He believes that art can be moving and inspirational but also can simply be fun and humorous.

Holiday Tree Lighting at the Richmond Auditorium

The Community Services Department, Recreation Division, will have a Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Richmond Auditorium on November 29, 2023, from 5:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. Enjoy holiday music, story time with special guests and a few surprises! DATE: Wednesday, November 29, 2023 TIME: 5:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. LOCATION: Richmond Memorial Auditorium 403 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, CA Bring a special ornament to be placed on the tree. Cookies & hot chocolate will be served.
