Ronald Bryant of Richmond has been charged in three separate sexual battery and assault incidents that occurred near the Point Richmond Tunnel in June and July of this year.

Detectives identified 56-year-old Bryant, a Richmond resident, as a suspect in the Dornan Drive assaults following an extensive investigation. He was taken into custody by detectives on August 12, according to a police statement released today.

The Richmond Police Department is investigating a series of sexual battery incidents in the Point Richmond area that have targeted individuals exercising alone during daylight and early evening hours.

Police say they followed up on numerous leads, conducted undercover decoy operations, utilized Flock license plate reader data, and collected forensic evidence from the scenes as part of the investigation leading to the arrest of Bryant.

The Contra Costa District Attorney's Office has filed multiple charges against Bryant that include: PC 220(a)(1) – Assault with intent to commit a felony, PC 236/237 – False imprisonment by violence (3 counts), PC 243.4(e)(1) – Sexual Battery (5 counts)

Bryant is currently in custody with a $200,000 bail.
