Richmond police responded to a week of crimes between January 19 and 25, including numerous vehicle thefts, domestic violence incidents, and drug-related arrests across the city, according to department logs. Officers made arrests in several violent incidents and recovered stolen vehicles throughout the week.

Monday, January 19

Pennsylvania pilfering: 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. A vehicle was taken without the owner's consent at 12:22 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 1200 block of Barrett Avenue. Police recovered a stolen vehicle at 4:55 a.m.

Residential burglary and grand theft: 2800 block of Humphrey Avenue. A residence was forcibly entered, and a theft over $400 was reported at 10 a.m.

Criminal threats: 2100 block of Nevin Avenue. Someone allegedly threatened a crime with the intent to terrorize at 10:13 a.m.

Contempt of court: 2300 block of Lancaster Drive. A person allegedly disobeyed a court order at 12:16 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia and vandalism: 3400 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police arrested someone after allegedly discovering unlawful paraphernalia. Property damage less than $400 was also reported at 12:22 p.m.

Armed robbery and brandishing: 100 block of 2nd Street. A robbery with a knife or cutting instrument was reported. The suspect also allegedly exhibited a deadly weapon at 12:36 p.m.

Domestic battery and vandalism: 200 block of 15th Street. Someone allegedly committed battery on a spouse or dating partner, damaged property valued at $400 or more, and earned a trip to the Gray Bar Hotel at 3:30 p.m.

Petty theft: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. A theft was reported at 4:03 p.m.

Trespassing: 600 block of 18th Street. Someone who refused to leave a posted land was given free lodging courtesy of the police at 4:14 p.m.

Contempt of court: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. A person allegedly disobeyed a court order at 4:30 p.m.

Petty theft: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. A theft was reported at 7 p.m.

Driving without a license: In the 94801 zip code. Police nabbed a driver for driving without a license at 7:12 p.m.

Warrant arrest and resisting: 4600 block of Potrero Avenue. Officers arrested someone on a felony warrant. The suspect also allegedly obstructed a peace officer at 7:30 p.m.

Domestic battery: 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. Police busted someone who allegedly committed battery on a spouse or dating partner at 7:30 p.m.

Vandalism: 12500 block of San Pablo Avenue. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 10 p.m.

Grand theft shoplifting: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. A shoplifting incident involving grand theft was reported at 10:18 p.m.

The Ohio Avenue exodus: 3700 block of Ohio Avenue. A vehicle was taken without consent at 10:50 p.m.

Tuesday, January 20

Battery: 300 block of South 6th Street. A battery on a person was reported at 12:14 a.m.

DUI bust: Lincoln Avenue. A young (under 21) rocket-fueled driver was taken off the road at 2:30 a.m.

DUI: 2700 block of Center Avenue. Police arrested another motorist for driving under the influence at 3:02 a.m.

Battery and vandalism: 200 block of Macdonald Avenue. A battery on a person occurred, and property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 6:57 a.m.

Fraud: 5200 block of Heavenly Ridge Lane. It was reported that someone obtained money by false pretenses at 7:42 a.m.

Hit-and-run and unlicensed driver: 2900 block of Birmingham Drive. An unlicensed driver allegedly fled a hit-and-run with property damage at 8:45 a.m.

The 18th Street surprise: 400 block of 18th Street. A vehicle was taken without the owner's consent at 8:45 a.m.

Residential burglary: 3200 block of Annapolis Avenue. A home was entered without force at 9:43 a.m.

Criminal threats: 2400 block of Lancaster Drive. Someone allegedly threatened a crime with the intent to terrorize at 10:08 a.m.

Petty theft: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. A theft was reported at 10:19 a.m.

Trespassing and battery on an officer: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Someone allegedly refused to leave posted land, committed battery on a peace officer, and was welcomed into police custody at 10:31 a.m.

DUI: 500 block of Marine Street. Police arrested a driver suspected of being under the influence at 11:44 a.m.

Drug possession and ammunition violation: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. Officers arrested someone after discovering controlled substances. The person was also said to be a person prohibited from possessing ammunition at 1:20 p.m.

Petty theft: 200 block of Macdonald Avenue. A theft was reported at 2:17 p.m.

Vehicle recovery: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 2:25 p.m.

Extortion: 3800 block of Roosevelt Avenue. An extortion was reported at 4 p.m.

Robbery: 900 block of 13th Street. Police arrested a robbery suspect at 4:01 p.m.

Shoplifting: 1300 block of Macdonald Avenue. A shoplifting incident occurred at 4:18 p.m.

Brandishing a firearm: Undisclosed location in the 94804 zip code. Someone allegedly exhibited a firearm at 4:34 p.m.

Petty theft: 2900 block of Groom Drive. Motor vehicle parts or accessories went missing at 5:26 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia: In the 94801. Someone was found with unlawful paraphernalia and arrested at 6:08 p.m.

Midnight motor mischief: 4200 block of Roosevelt Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 9 p.m.

The Hilltop heist: 2600 block of Hilltop Drive. Another vehicle was taken without consent at 10 p.m.

Wednesday, January 21

Protective order violation and contempt: 800 block of Lassen Street. A frequent flyer was picked up suspected of violating a court order to prevent domestic violence at 3 a.m.

Warrant arrest: In the 94804. Officers arrested someone on a misdemeanor warrant at 3:47 a.m.

Child cruelty: 2800 block of Sheldon Drive. Willful cruelty to a child was reported at 6:30 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 200 block of 15th Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 6:54 a.m.

Grand theft pickpocketing: In the 94805. A pickpocket was reportedly at work at 9:57 a.m.

Assault with force: Seabreeze Drive. An assault with force causing possible great bodily injury was reported at 10 a.m.

Open alcohol container: 900 block of Cutting Boulevard. Someone was found with an open alcohol container in a vehicle at 10:45 a.m.

Petty theft: 3000 block of Andrade Avenue. A theft was reported at noon.

Vanishing act on 23rd: 1000 block of 23rd Street. A vehicle was taken without the owner's consent at 12:45 p.m.

Trespassing: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. Trespassing was reported at 2:07 p.m.

Battery: 600 block of Berk Avenue. A battery on a person was reported at 3:52 p.m.

Firearm discharge: 1000 block of Hensley Street. A firearm was discharged in a grossly negligent manner at 7:17 p.m.

Resisting arrest: 100 block of West Macdonald Avenue. An unsuccessful attempt was made to obstruct a peace officer at 7:30 p.m.

Elder abuse and sexual battery: 3600 block of Barrett Avenue. Elder or dependent adult cruelty, sexual battery, and indecent exposure were reported at 7:59 p.m.

The Rheem removal: 2700 block of Rheem Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 8:00 p.m.

DUI combo platter: Richmond. Police arrested someone for driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, and a combination of both. The driver was also operating without a license at 10:51 p.m.

Thursday, January 22

Shoplifting and weapon brandishing: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Someone allegedly shoplifted and exhibited a deadly weapon at 12:40 a.m.

Protective order violation: 2700 block of Shane Drive. A protective order was said to have been violated at 1:46 a.m.

Arson: 600 block of Sanford Avenue. Arson causing great bodily injury was reported at 1:56 a.m.

Domestic battery: 4900 block of Clinton Avenue. Battery on a spouse or dating partner was reported at 3 a.m.

Loaded firearm possession: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Someone was carrying a loaded firearm in public and was also not the registered owner of the handgun at 3:22 a.m.

Last update: 4:22 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 A Richmond Police detective reportedly shot and killed a man welding a tire jack on Interstate 80 near Hercules Thursday morning, shutting down part of the freeway, and causing a massive traffic snarl that persisted for much of the day.

Domestic violence with priors: 3100 block of Garrity Way. Officers made an arrest for aggravated assault after someone allegedly inflicted corporal injury on a spouse with prior convictions at 12:42 p.m.

Brandishing a weapon: 10200 block of San Pablo Avenue. A deadly weapon was reportedly exhibited at 2:01 p.m.

Auto burglary and vandalism: 1100 block of 23rd Street. A vehicle was broken into, and property damage of less than $400 was reported at 2:47 p.m.

Grand theft: 300 block of East Richmond Avenue. A theft was reported at 4 p.m.

Vandalism and tampering: 1400 block of Macdonald Avenue. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported, and someone tampered with a vehicle at 4:30 p.m.

Drug possession and paraphernalia: 2700 block of Ohio Avenue. Police arrested someone after discovering controlled substances and unlawful paraphernalia at 5 p.m.

Contempt of court: 2600 block of Shane Drive. A court order was allegedly disobeyed at 5:14 p.m.

Vandalism: 700 block of Amador Street. Property damage valued at $400 or more was reported at 6 p.m.

Domestic violence: 100 block of Chanslor Avenue. Someone allegedly inflicted corporal injury on a spouse at 6:30 p.m.

Residential burglary and resisting arrest: 5200 block of Colusa Avenue. A residence was forcibly entered. The suspect also allegedly obstructed a peace officer and was arrested at 7:11 p.m.

Battery: 1400 block of Atlas Road. Battery on a person was reported at 8:20 p.m.

DUI: 1000 block of 28th Street. Police arrested a motorist for driving under the influence at 9:00 p.m.

The Barrett bandit: 1900 block of Barrett Avenue. A vehicle was taken without consent at 10 p.m.

Friday, January 23

Drug paraphernalia and false ID: In the 94804. Police arrested someone after discovering unlawful paraphernalia. The person also gave false identification to officers at 1:27 a.m.

Brandishing a firearm: 3500 block of Morningside Drive. Someone allegedly exhibited a firearm at 3:18 a.m.

Commercial burglary: 12600 block of San Pablo Avenue. A commercial property was forcibly entered at 4:53 a.m.

DUI and resisting arrest: 400 block of South 11th Street. Police arrested someone for driving under the influence. The person also allegedly obstructed an executive officer at 10:23 a.m.

Shoplifting: 1200 block of Macdonald Avenue. A shoplifting incident occurred at 1:43 p.m.

Battery: 2000 block of Macdonald Avenue. A battery on a person was reported at 3:10 p.m.

Residential burglary: 1400 block of York Street. A residence was entered without force at 4:12 p.m.

The Florida flight: 2100 block of Florida Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 6 p.m.

Trespassing: 1000 block of Cutting Boulevard. Someone refused to leave a property after the owner requested at 6:14 p.m.

Commercial burglary: 4900 block of Macdonald Avenue. A commercial property was forcibly entered at 7:30 p.m.

Community noise: 2800 block of Jo Ann Drive. A community noise violation was reported at 10:45 p.m.

Domestic violence and child cruelty: 1300 block of Bissell Avenue. Someone was said to have inflicted corporal injury on a spouse and committed willful cruelty to a child at 12:04 p.m.

Battery: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. A battery on a person was reported at 4:53 p.m.

Residential burglary: 300 block of 21st Street. A residence was entered without force at 6:36 p.m.

Drug paraphernalia: Somewhere in the 94804. Police discovered someone with unlawful paraphernalia at 8:48 p.m.

Petty theft: 3200 block of Pierce Street. Theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories was reported at 10:22 p.m.
