Richmond police responded to a disturbing array of serious crimes during the week of September 15-20, including a homicide, human trafficking involving a minor, multiple sexual assaults, and a string of armed robberies.

Monday, September 15, 2025

Boozy police chase: In the 94801 zip code. Liquid courage led to a police chase with multiple violations, including DUI, evading officers, obstruction, and arrest at 2:16 a.m. 

Petty theft: 2300 block of Homestead Circle. Some light pilfering was attempted at 4:30 a.m.

Vehicle theft: 100 block of 12th Street. A car thief decided to take an unauthorized joyride at 4:51 a.m.

Auto burglary: 3000 block of O Brien Road. Two car break-ins occurred at the same location at 6:18 a.m.

Sexual assault: 4700 block of Hartnett Avenue. A sexual offense involving an unconscious victim was reported at 8 a.m.

Auto burglary: 3000 block of Wiswall Drive. Another car break-in was reported at 8:43 a.m.

Shoplifting: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. An unauthorized shopping trip was attempted at 9:04 a.m.

Residential burglary: 2000 block of Ohio Avenue. A home break-in was reported at 10 a.m.

Vandalism and theft: 1500 block of Ohio Avenue. Property damage and petty theft were reported at the same location at 11:51 a.m.

Battery: 4200 block of Hilltop Drive. A physical altercation took place at 12:01 p.m.

Robbery: 12600 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police arrested a shoplifter on robbery charges after force or fear was seemingly used to resist getting the stolen property back at 12:55 p.m.  

Hate crime and battery: 3700 block of Ohio Avenue. Civil rights violations by force, along with battery, were reported at 1:20 p.m.

Multiple domestic violence charges: 300 block of South 4th Street. Domestic battery and court order violation were reported at 2:12 p.m.

Multiple DUI charges: In the 94804 zip code. A driver was arrested for driving under the influence with a suspended license at 2:44 p.m.

Aggravated assault arrest: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. Reports of domestic violence and child abuse led to an arrest at 3:44 p.m.

Sex offense: 200 block of S 35th Street. A sexual assault was reported at 3:51 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 17th Street. Another car disappeared at 4:40 p.m.

Petty theft: 1200 block of Chanslor Avenue. Light-fingered activity was reported at 5:17 p.m.

Petty theft: 600 block of 17th Street. Theft from a motor vehicle occurred at 5:30 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 400 block of S 22nd Street. Another case of mistaken vehicle ownership at 5:32 p.m.

Commercial burglary: 1100 block of Cutting Boulevard. A business break-in without force was reported at 6:50 p.m.

Midnight requisition: 500 block of South 19th Street. Someone took an unauthorized joyride in an ill-gotten conveyance at midnight.

Vehicle theft: 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. Another car went missing at 5:18 a.m.

Auto burglary and stolen property: 3100 block of Cutting Boulevard. A car break-in resulted in charges for receiving stolen property at 8:56 a.m.

Criminal threats: 1800 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Menacing words were exchanged at 9:46 a.m.

Stolen property: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Someone was found in possession of a stolen vehicle and arrested at 10:28 a.m. 

Vehicle theft: 500 block of S 19th Street. The same block saw another unauthorized borrowing at 11:30 a.m.

Vehicle recovery: 4900 block of Wall Avenue. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 11:33 a.m.

Obstruction: 300 block of 36th Street. Someone was busted for blocking a sidewalk at 1:07 p.m.

Sex offender violation: 5400 block of Solano Avenue. Someone on the sex offender list reportedly failed to update address information at 2:30 p.m.

Petty theft: 12900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Light-fingered activity was reported at 4 p.m.

Rape: 400 block of 22nd Street. A sexual assault was reported at 5:36 p.m.

Multiple trespassing charges: 800 block of Florida Avenue. Unlawful occupation and criminal threats at the same location at 6:11 p.m.

Battery: 2900 block of Hoffman Boulevard. A physical altercation took place at 6:30 p.m.

Grand theft: 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. Auto parts theft occurred at 8 p.m.

Vandalism: In the 94804 zip code. Property damage over $400 was reported at 8:29 p.m.

Vehicle recovery: 100 block of S 18th Street. Another stolen vehicle was recovered at 8:46 p.m.

Drug violations: In the 94804 zip code. Someone had marijuana and controlled substances for sale until police put an end to the business at 9:31 p.m. 

Criminal threats: W Richmond Avenue. Menacing words were exchanged at 9:59 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 2700 block of Rheem Avenue. Another car disappeared into the criminal underworld at 10 p.m.

Multiple charges: In the 94804 zip code. A felon apparently obstructed a peace officer after being found with a stun gun and drug paraphernalia at 10:37 p.m.

Human trafficking: In the 94804 zip code. Trafficking of a minor victim was reported at 1:45 a.m.

Petty theft and obstruction: 600 block of 23rd Street. Theft was followed by a resisting arrest charge at 2:46 a.m.

Vehicle theft: 200 block of S 33rd Street. A motorcar was liberated at 6:59 a.m.

Vehicle theft: 700 block of 9th Street. Another case of mistaken vehicle ownership at 9:32 a.m.

Identity theft: 2900 block of Center Avenue. Personal information was used with the intent to defraud at 9:34 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Someone got too friendly with someone else's car at 9:51 a.m.

Vandalism: 800 block of 8th Street. Property damage over $400 occurred at 10:43 a.m.

Vandalism: 5000 block of Hartnett Avenue. Property defacement was reported at 11:10 a.m.

Petty theft: 400 block of 33rd Street. A five-finger discount was attempted at 12 p.m.

Sex offense: 4300 block of Cutting Boulevard. Someone was arrested for a sex crime at 12:31 p.m.

Stalking and criminal threats: 2400 block of Nevin Avenue. Stalking and criminal threats were reported at the same location at 2:11 p.m.

Domestic violence charges: In the 94805 zip code. Domestic violence and false imprisonment were reported at 2:17 p.m.

Shoplifting: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Retail liberation was attempted at 3:03 p.m.

Petty theft: 11900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police made an arrest for larceny at 3:26 p.m.

Firearm violation: In the 94801 zip code. Someone was arrested on charges of carrying a loaded firearm in public at 3:46 p.m.  

Indecent exposure: 100 block of W Nevin Avenue. A public display of poor judgment occurred at 6:29 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 3100 block of Rheem Avenue. Thieves commandeered transport at 7:41 p.m.

Petty theft: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Building theft was reported at 8:25 p.m.

Fake drugs: In the 94804 zip code. A suspect was busted for selling substances in lieu of controlled drugs at 9 p.m.  

Contempt of court: In the 94804 zip code. Disorderly courtroom behavior resulted in an arrest at 9:34 p.m.  

Robbery with firearm: 600 block of 23rd Street. An armed robbery occurred at 11:25 p.m.

Robbery: In the 94801 zip code. A strong-arm theft occurred at 2:37 a.m.

Grand theft: 1900 block of Potrero Avenue. Significant theft was reported at 4 a.m.

Fire truck strikes intoxicated pedestrian: 1100 block of Cutting Boulevard. A Richmond Fire Department apparatus struck a pedestrian while responding to an emergency call at 5:07 a.m. According to Lt. Donald Patchin, the adult male victim had been lying unconscious in the fire station driveway, directly in front of the roll-up door, apparently due to intoxication.

Despite the noise of the opening door and starting firetruck, the pedestrian did not wake up and was not visible to the driver due to his position. The victim sustained significant injuries and remains hospitalized. The fire apparatus operator is not suspected of impairment, and the Traffic Unit continues investigating this unfortunate accident that highlights the dangers of public intoxication near emergency facilities.

Battery: 200 block of 4th Street. A physical altercation took place at 6:31 a.m.

Grand theft: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. Another major theft occurred at 7:44 a.m.

Vandalism: 200 block of 24th Street. Property damage under $400 was reported at 8 a.m.

Vehicle theft: In the 94804 zip code. Police received another report of a wayward automobile at 11:17 a.m.

Petty theft: 3600 block of Klose Way. A five-finger discount was attempted at 11:35 a.m.

Auto burglary: 100 block of 8th Street. Thieves broke into another car at 12:35 p.m.

Identity theft: 600 block of Humboldt Street. Personal information was used fraudulently at 2:45 p.m.

Elder abuse: 2800 block of Jo Ann Drive. It was reported that someone was being cruel to a dependent adult at 3:54 p.m.

Robbery with firearm: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. An armed robbery took place at 5:24 p.m.

Criminal threats: 2900 block of Hoffman Boulevard. Menacing words were exchanged at 5:30 p.m.

Criminal threats: 19th Street. More menacing words at 5:34 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 5300 block of Conestoga Way. Another purloined carriage was reported at 6 p.m.

Vandalism: 1000 block of Parkside Drive. Property damage over $400 occurred at 6 p.m.

Weapon violation: 2900 block of Hoffman Boulevard. A deadly weapon was exhibited at 6:30 p.m.

Identity theft: 800 block of Parr Boulevard. More personal information theft at 6:32 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 300 block of Key Boulevard. Moonlight machinations procured another car at 9 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 200 block of 15th Street. Shadowed hands claimed another car at 10:28 p.m.

Multiple serious charges: 300 block of 29th Street. A crime spree including armed robbery, assault, and criminal threats at 11:13 p.m.

Vehicle tampering: 1000 block of Bissell Avenue. Someone got too friendly with someone else's car at 11:30 p.m.

Identity theft: 2400 block of Hinkley Avenue. Personal information was used fraudulently at midnight.

Multiple drug charges: In the 94801 zip code. Suspected marijuana dealing and narcotic possession led to an arrest at 12:56 a.m.

Auto burglary: 4400 block of Sycamore Avenue. A car break-in occurred at 5:30 a.m.

Vehicle tampering: In the 94801 zip code. Car tampering was reported at 8 a.m.

Vandalism: 1300 block of Mariposa Street. Property damage over $400 occurred at 8:30 a.m.

Multiple DUI charges: In the 94804 zip code. A driver ran afoul of a zero-tolerance policy while on probation for a DUI and also had a suspended license at 9:57 a.m.

Multiple firearm charges: 4300 block of Cutting Boulevard. Someone was caught with an illegal gun on school property while already on probation, and also made terroristic threats at 11:13 a.m.

Assault with weapon: 1400 block of Bissell Avenue. A deadly weapon was used in an attack at 12:06 p.m.

Auto burglary: 100 block of Berk Place. A car break-in occurred at 12:35 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 700 block of 6th Street. A car was liberated from its rightful shepherd at 12:42 p.m.

Vehicle theft: In the 94804 zip code. Another was seized by wicked design at 1:08 p.m.

Shoplifting: 900 block of 23rd Street. A five-finger discount was attempted at 2:16 p.m.

Multiple domestic violence charges: 400 block of 31st Street. Domestic battery, false imprisonment, and property destruction led to an arrest at 2:36 p.m.

Petty theft: 1000 block of Florida Avenue. Light-fingered activity was reported at 4 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 3200 block of Maricopa Avenue. Another unauthorized borrowing at 7 p.m.

Murder: 800 block of Lincoln Avenue. A homicide occurred at 8:37 p.m.

Robbery: 3500 block of May Road. A strong-arm theft occurred at 9:40 a.m.

Vandalism: 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue. Property damage over $400 occurred at 11:27 a.m.

Trespassing: In the 94804 zip code. Someone occupied property without consent at 1:14 p.m.

Vandalism: 12200 block of San Pablo Avenue. Property damage under $400 was reported at 1:45 p.m.

Petty theft: 5400 block of Van Fleet Avenue. Auto parts theft occurred at 1:48 p.m.
