

For the first week of September, the Richmond police responded to numerous reports of vehicle thefts, assaults, and burglaries throughout the city. Officers also handled cases involving vandalism, domestic violence, and drug violations.

Monday, September 1, 2025
Vehicle theft: 2400 block of Nevin Avenue. A car thief decided 2 a.m. was the perfect time for an unauthorized joyride.
Vehicle theft: 200 block of South 5th Street. The early bird gets the... stolen car? Another vehicle vanished at 7:38 a.m.
Grand theft: 1200 block of Brickyard Way. Not everything stolen has four wheels - this theft was reported at 8:54 a.m.
Vehicle theft: 100 block of West Macdonald Avenue. The vehicle theft parade continued at 9:54 a.m.
Obstruct officer: Livingston Lane. Someone thought they could outsmart the law at 10:09 a.m.
Domestic violence: 400 block of Barrett Avenue. A domestic situation turned serious at 1:04 p.m. The suspect was arrested on aggravated assault charges.
Driving violation: Undisclosed location in the 94804 zip code. Driving with a suspended license made for an expensive afternoon at 1:12 p.m.
Battery: 3200 block of Klose Way. Fists started flying at 1:23 p.m.
Petty theft: 500 block of Ripley Avenue. This person’s afternoon shopping trip didn’t involve paying at 1 p.m.
Battery: 11th Street. A scuffle escalated, leading to an adult timeout at 1:34 p.m.
Battery: 1200 block of Virginia Avenue. Another domestic dispute ended in cuffs at 2:20 p.m.
Vehicle theft: 300 block of S 26th Street. The afternoon car-stealing shift began at 4 p.m.
Vandalism: 500 block of Tewksbury Avenue. Someone got creative with property destruction at 5:49 p.m.
Assault with a deadly weapon: 900 block of Carlson Boulevard. Things got dangerously serious at 6:15 p.m.
Multiple violations: 2900 block of Hilltop Mall Road. A vandalism call led to the discovery of drugs for sale and a municipal violation at 6:50 p.m. The suspect was arrested on multiple charges.

Pickled car thief: 3500 block of Bissell Avenue and 600 block of 7th Street. A vehicle theft suspect led to double DUI charges at 4:51 p.m.
Petty theft: 5000 block of Valley View Road. Evening theft kept the crime train rolling at 5 p.m.
Aggravated assault arrest: 1200 block of Visalia Avenue. Police made an arrest for aggravated assault at 6 p.m.
Extortion: Mesa, Arizona. Long-distance crime involving immigration threats surfaced at 6:48 p.m.
Petty theft: 2700 block of Barnard Street. Car break-ins made for an expensive evening for someone at 7:24 p.m.
Vandalism: 300 block of Summit Place. Summit Place got an unwelcome makeover at 7:35 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 800 block of S 47th Street. Dawn brought another case of automotive wanderlust at 5:30 a.m.
Commercial burglary: 12400 block of San Pablo Avenue. A burglary crew took ‘takeout’ way too literally, breaking into a restaurant at 6:07 a.m.
Multiple violations: 400 block of 23rd Street. Officers made an arrest after someone reportedly violated a court order, committed battery, and was found with drug paraphernalia at 8:12 a.m.
Vehicle theft and burglary: 3100 block of Pierce Street. The car thieves doubled down with a burglary at 9:19 a.m.
Carjacking: 2700 block of Moyers Road. Things escalated to armed vehicle theft at 10:42 a.m.
Vehicle recovery: 2500 block of Duke Avenue. A short distance away, police recovered a stolen vehicle at 10:43 a.m.
Vehicle violation: 500 block of Canal Boulevard. One driver learned it is illegal to drive on the wrong side of a divided highway and was subsequently arrested at 11:43 a.m.
Vandalism: 5100 block of Bayview Avenue. The destruction tour continued at felonious levels at 12:28 p.m.
Aggravated assault arrest: 400 block of S 9th Street. Police arrested a suspect on aggravated assault charges at 1:08 p.m.
Grand theft: In the 94804 zip code. Someone’s big score remained mysteriously located at 1:43 p.m.
Shoplifting: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. The five-finger discount was applied at 2:05 p.m.
Battery: 4800 block of Central Avenue. Central Avenue saw some uncivil behavior at 2:25 p.m.
Vandalism: 600 block of 6th Street. More expensive property redecorating occurred at 3:21 p.m.
Drug violations: In the 94801 zip code. A drug bust netted controlled substances and paraphernalia at 6:55 p.m.
Vehicle theft: 600 block of Berk Avenue. The evening car disappearing act began at 7 p.m.
Battery: 3300 block of Klose Way. Battery on a person was reported at 7:20 p.m.
Petty theft: 4100 block of Klose Way. Late-night unauthorized shopping occurred at 8:44 p.m.
Vandalism: 900 block of 28th Street. Police collared someone for felony vandalism at 9 p.m.

Vehicle theft and vandalism: 600 block of 23rd Street. 23rd Street said goodbye to another vehicle and gained some property damage at 9:54 a.m.
Drug violation: In the 94804 zip code. Drug paraphernalia made for an afternoon surprise trip to the lock-up at 2:06 p.m.
Firearms violation arrest: 1300 block of Monterey Street. Gun-waving and criminal threats led to an arrest at 5:30 p.m.
Petty theft: 1000 block of Canal Boulevard. Evening shopping without paying occurred at 7 p.m.
Burglary: 100 block of 6th Street. Car break-ins made for an expensive evening at 7 p.m.
Multiple violations: 3500 block of San Pablo Dam Road. Police evasion and obstruction made for a failed escape attempt at 7:59 p.m.

A burglary: 2100 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Shopping center crime struck at 1:25 p.m.
Shoplifting: 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. The free shopping spree continued at 2:13 p.m.
Sex offense: 1300 block of Carlson Boulevard. A sexual assault was reported at 5:20 p.m.
Assault with a firearm: 1400 block of Florida Avenue. Gun violence escalated the evening drama at 5:58 p.m.
Firearms violation: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. Someone waved a gun like a greeting card at 9:45 p.m.
Battery: 2300 block of Aberdeen Way. Aberdeen Way ended the night with a report of domestic violence just before midnight.

Multiple violations: 2200 block of Nevin Avenue and surrounding areas. A serious crime spree included domestic violence, kidnapping, assault with force, vehicle theft, and drug dealing at 2:15 p.m.
Petty theft: 3200 block of Pullman Avenue. More items were reported missing at 2:10 p.m.
Vehicle recovery: Stenmark Street. Another stolen vehicle returned home at 4 p.m.
Petty theft: 2500 block of Maricopa Avenue. Evening theft kept the crime train rolling at 5:31 p.m.

Domestic violence: 1100 block of Chanslor Avenue. The week ended with a domestic violence report at 9:37 p.m.

Drug violations: In the 94801 zip code. A controlled substance possession case turned into paraphernalia charges at 10:41 a.m.
Auto burglary and vandalism: 5000 block of Match Court. A criminal’s afternoon involved both breaking into a car and leaving their destructive calling card at 1:44 p.m.
Court violation: 2500 block of Lancaster Drive. It was reported that someone had violated a court order at 3:58 p.m.
Hate crime and threats: 1400 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Criminal threats escalated to hate crime charges at the shopping center at 5:00 p.m.
