Richmond police have arrested a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian severely injured early Thursday morning.
At approximately 4:35 a.m., officers responded to Valley View Road at Morningside Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a pedestrian suffering significant injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Coroner’s Division has identified Jose Mendez-Rios, 51, of Richmond, as the suspect fatally shot by Richmond Police last week.
