Richmond Police officers responded to reports of a fight and shots fired in the 800 block of Chanslor Avenue near Sylvester Greenwood Academy on Monday, around 12:06 p.m.
Police said an altercation involving students and adults occurred, and at least one shot was fired. No injuries were reported, and the school building sustained minor damage.
The suspect fled before officers arrived.
Sylvester Greenwood Academy and the neighboring Leadership Public Schools campus were briefly placed on lockdown as officers secured the area. Both schools remained in session.
