Richmond police are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest after a 23-year-old man was shot and killed last month.
Officers responded around 5:55 a.m. on November 17 after a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the 1400 block of Bissell Avenue, the department said Monday.

When officers arrived, they found Josue Cornejo, a Richmond resident, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He died at the scene despite first responders' life-saving attempts.

Investigators located video of a person of interest during their follow-up work and released images of the individual, noting the person’s clothing and distinctive shoes.
In a social media post, police urged anyone who recognizes the individual or believes they may know who they are to contact Detective Farr at 510-620-6622, saying that a tip “could help us solve this murder.”
