Richmond police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured early Monday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1:38 a.m. in the 900 block of 30th Street and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Lt. Donald Patchin, Richmond Police Department public information officer.

"The victim was transported to a local trauma center for treatment," Patchin said. "The victim provided vague and conflicting statements, and officers were unable to confirm where the shooting occurred. The incident remains under investigation."
