Richmond's streets saw no shortage of criminal activity during the week of July 21-27, 2025, as police logged dozens of incidents ranging from petty theft to attempted murder.

Vehicle-related crimes dominated the reports, with car thefts, auto burglaries, and robberies occurring at all hours across the city. Officers also responded to multiple assaults, residential break-ins, vandalism sprees, and drug-related arrests. From midnight motor vehicle thefts to evening armed robberies, here's a comprehensive look at the crimes and arrests that kept Richmond police busy throughout the week.

Monday, July 21, 2025

Midnight motorist mishap: 2800 block of Virginia Avenue. A motor vehicle theft was reported, leading to an arrest. The suspect was also found in possession of burglary tools at 12:59 a.m.

Utility theft scheme: 5100 block of Solano Avenue. Police made an arrest for grand theft and utility services theft over $400, along with conspiracy charges at 3:13 a.m.

Morning motor theft: 1600 block of Monterey Street. A vehicle was reported stolen at 6:02 a.m.

South side swipe: 200 block of S 45th Street. Vehicle theft occurred at 8:54 a.m.

Strong-arm robbery: Carlson Boulevard. Strong-arm robbery paired with vehicle theft at 10:43 a.m.

Shoplifting: 1200 block of MacDonald Avenue. A shoplifter reportedly escalated their crimes to robbery at 1 p.m.

Grand theft: 2700 block of Wiswall Drive. A grand theft was reported at 1:04 p.m.

Vehicle vandalism: 3100 block of Shane Drive. Vehicle tampering was reported at 1:34 p.m.

Battery: 4900 block of Hartnett Avenue. Some sort of altercation was reported to police at 2:08 p.m.

Rental ripoff: 400 block of Stege Avenue. Someone was busted after embezzlement of a leased/rented vehicle at 2:10 p.m.

Strong-arm robbery: Roosevelt Avenue. Another strong-arm robbery was reported at 4:09 p.m.

Grand theft: 300 block of S 4th Street. A sizable theft was reported at 7 p.m.

Residential break-in: 700 block of 15th Street. Burglars forced their way into a home at 7:13 p.m.

Vehicle vanished: 300 block of S 25th Street. An unscheduled borrowing of a motor vehicle occurred at 8 p.m.

Trespassing trouble: 4000 block of Mozart Drive. A trespasser refused to leave at 8:20 p.m.

Simple assault: 400 block of S 20th Street. Police made an arrest for simple assault at 10:09 p.m.

Petty pilfering: 600 block of South 29th Street. A petty theft was reported at 10:30 p.m.

Court contempt: 600 block of S 31st Street. Someone was violating a court order at 11:39 p.m.

Parkway vandalism: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Felony vandalism over $400 was reported at 3 a.m.

Dawn assault: In the 94801 zip code. Officers responded to an assault with force, causing possible great bodily injury at 6 a.m.

Trespassing: 1300 block of Dunn Avenue. It was reported that someone was trespassing at 7:12 a.m.

Auto burglary: 2600 block of Hilltop Drive. A car owner learned someone had broken into their car at 7:34 a.m.

Car theft: 500 block of S 24th Street. Another automotive disappearing act was reported at 7:39 a.m.

Fraud scheme: 5700 block of Amend Road. Money obtained by false pretenses was discovered at 10:39 a.m.

Battery: Tewksbury Avenue. Someone was said to have used unlawful force or violence upon a person at 12:10 p.m.

Residential raid: 3100 block of Garrity Way. Residential burglary without force and petty theft from a motor vehicle were reported at 1:08 p.m.

Card crime: 600 block of 22nd Street. Theft by use of access card information was reported at 1:28 p.m.

Elm encounter: 700 block of Elm Avenue. Battery on a person was reported at 2:38 p.m.

Weapon display: 900 block of 23rd Street. Police made an arrest for assault after someone exhibited a deadly weapon at 3:10 p.m.

Trespassing: 3100 block of Southampton Court. Someone occupied property without consent at 4:31 p.m.

Criminal combo: 100 block of Crest Avenue. Someone burglarized and tampered with a vehicle at 5 p.m.

DUI downtown: The 94804 zip code. Police arrested a driver who was said to be driving under the influence of alcohol at 11 p.m.

Terroristic threats: 4800 block of Hartnett Avenue. Criminal threats were made at 11:56 p.m., followed by an arrest on intimidation charges.

Midnight theft: 6100 block of Burlingame Avenue. Grand theft was reported at midnight.

Theft: 600 block of 30th Street. Petty theft was discovered and reported to police at 6:45 a.m.

Residential raid: Crest Avenue. It was discovered that burglars forced their way into a home at 7 a.m.

Parts pilfering: 100 block of 24th Street. More motor vehicle parts/accessories were reportedly lost to the night at 8:23 a.m.

Car burglary: 1400 block of Ohio Avenue. A car owner discovered thieves had pawed through their car at 8:34 a.m.

Parkway pilfer: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. A surprise vehicular relocation happened in the night and was reported to police at 9:19 a.m.

Avenue auto theft: 4100 block of Potrero Avenue. Car thieves liberated another ride at 9:37 a.m.

Street strike: 100 block of Curry Street. Auto burglary at 10:54 a.m.

Residential burglary: 700 block of 36th Street. A residential burglary without the use of force was reported at 12:25 p.m.

Battery: Carlson Boulevard. Battery on a person was reported at 12:50 p.m.

Street smash: 800 block of 7th Street. It was reported a felony vandalism had occurred at 1:45 p.m.

More vandalism: Harbour Way. Vandals caused more than $400 in damage at 1:47 p.m.

Minor mischief: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Minor vandalism was reported at 2:41 p.m.

Commercial burglary: 2600 block of MacDonald Avenue. Commercial burglary with force, petty theft from a building, felony vandalism, and trespassing were all discovered at 2:48 p.m.

Vandalism: 900 block of Triangle Court. Another felonious vandalism was reported at 3:17 p.m.

Police pursuit: 2500 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Someone was evading a peace officer at 4:22 p.m.

Vehicle victory: MacDonald Avenue. A stolen car was returned to its rightful owner at 4:59 p.m.

Walkway woes: 400 block of Metro Walk Way. Someone else’s car, however, got a less-than-legal new owner at 5:30 p.m.

Street swipe: 800 block of 38th Street. Petty theft was reported at 6:59 p.m.

Court contempt: 400 block of 23rd Street. Someone was in contempt of court for disobeying a court order at 7:35 p.m.

Assault: 2800 block of Bissell Avenue. More battery on a person was reported at 8:06 p.m.

Armed robbery reported in Alvarado Park leads to large police response
An armed robbery near the entrance of Alvarado Park in East Richmond Heights on Wednesday night triggered a large police response, including a helicopter and a K-9 unit, but the search was later called off after the suspect fled.

Officer obstruction: The 94804 zip code. Someone obstructed or resisted an officer at 9:58 p.m.

Attempted murder: 1700 block of Maine Avenue. Police arrested an individual on charges of aggravated assault. The charges stemmed from an alleged attempted murder using a knife, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault with force that potentially caused great bodily injury at 10:49 p.m.

Disorderly conduct: 300 block of S 18th Street. Someone was arrested on drug charges after some disorderly conduct involving alcohol at 11:25 p.m. Someone was also disobeying an order of a fireman or public officer at the same time.

Assault: 1500 block of Garvin Avenue. Battery on a person was reported at 12:11 a.m.

Mall mischief: 2800 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Petty theft from a building was reported at 12:17 a.m.

Parkway pilfer: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Someone’s car took an extended, unapproved test drive at 2:22 a.m.

Boulevard burglary: 2500 block of Cutting Boulevard. Another car was absent without leave at 6:34 a.m.

Theft: 300 block of Nevin Avenue. More theft of the petty nature was reported at 7:02 a.m.

Grand theft: 500 block of Chanslor Avenue. More belongings were stolen at 7:12 a.m.

Double trouble: 2200 block of Barrett Avenue. Grand theft and felony vandalism were reported at 8:33 a.m.

Emergency assault: 5600 block of Alameda Avenue. Someone was said to have committed battery against emergency personnel at 9:02 a.m.

Vehicle violation: 3000 block of Hilltop Mall Road. The embezzlement of a leased/rented vehicle was reported at 9:29 a.m.

Authority resistance: 400 block of Chanslor Avenue. Police made an arrest after someone reportedly obstructed or resisted an officer at 11:48 a.m.

Grand theft: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. More grand theft happened at 12:45 p.m.

Identity theft: 100 block of S 18th Street. Someone was in possession of personal identifying info and had the intent to defraud at 1:26 p.m.

Multiple charges: 1200 block of MacDonald Avenue. Officers nabbed a suspect on impersonation charges at 4:03 p.m. Drugs and petty theft were also involved somehow.

Aggravated assault: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Police responded to reports of an assault with force causing possible great bodily injury at 5:02 p.m.

Burglary: 600 block of 32nd Street. Burglaries continued their assault on the North and East with a residential burglary at 8:46 p.m.

Intimidation: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Police made arrests for intimidation after someone exhibited a deadly weapon and threatened to commit a crime at 12:50 a.m.

Battery: 2600 block of Lancaster Drive. Police made arrests for simple assault at 9:25 a.m.

Police evasion: Richmond Parkway & Giant Road. A driver was disregarding safety while trying to evade the police at 9:46 a.m.

Grand theft: 4600 block of Upland Drive. A grand theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 3 a.m.

Assault and battery: 200 block of W Chanslor Avenue. Police made arrests for simple assault at 1:21 p.m.

Home invasion: 200 block of Gertrude Avenue. A home invasion robbery and first-degree robbery of an inhabited dwelling was reported at 2:20 p.m.

Residential burglary: 600 block of Berk Avenue. A residential burglary with force was reported at 2:59 p.m.

Vandalism: 1100 block of S 27th Street. Vandals caused property damage at 4:27 p.m.

Reckless Driving: In the 94805 zip code. Someone was driving recklessly at 7:28 p.m.

DUI trifecta: In the 94801 zip code. Police busted someone for driving under the influence, with a driver's license restricted for DUI, and committing a hit and run with property damage at 10:42 p.m.

Threateningly: 2300 block of Brooks Avenue. Someone was threatening to commit a crime at 9:30 a.m.

Auto Burglary: Crest Avenue. Another auto burglary was reported at 11 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 700 block of 20th Street. A vehicle was taken without the owner's consent at 10 p.m.

Petty theft: Bissell Way. Theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 5 p.m.

Vehicle theft: 100 block of Garrard Boulevard. Another vehicle was spirited away without the owner's consent at 5 p.m.

Auto Burglary: 900 block of Ripley Avenue. An auto burglary was reported at 7 a.m.

Vehicle theft: 1000 block of 23rd Street. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 8 a.m.

Petty theft: 2500 block of Roosevelt Avenue. A petty theft was reported at 10:58 a.m.

Vandalism: 200 block of Sanford Avenue. Miscreants tampered with and burglarized a car at 2:20 p.m.

Grand theft: 3400 block of Garvin Avenue. A grand theft was reported at 4:40 p.m.

Assault and battery: 3800 block of Lakeside Dr. Battery and vandalism were reported at 8:49 p.m.

Assault and battery: 200 block of Macdonald Avenue. An incident involving battery, battery on a person, and vandalism causing less than $400 in damage was reported. Police made arrests for simple assault at 5:19 a.m.

Aggravated assault: 3100 block of Moyers Road. Police made arrests for aggravated assault at 6:11 a.m.

Vehicle theft: Cutting Court. Another vehicle was taken without the owner's consent at 6:55 a.m.

Vandalism: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Vandalism causing $400 or more in damage was reported at 11:09 a.m.

Trespassing: The 94801 zip code. Someone reportedly trespassed and refused to leave at 2:18 p.m.

Petty theft: 1200 block of Macdonald Avenue. Petty theft was reported at 1:40 p.m.

Assault and battery: 600 block of Stege Avenue. A report was filed for threatening behavior, battery, and misdemeanor threatening crime with intent to terrorize at 3:54 p.m.

Street racing: 900 block of Chanslor Avenue. Someone was aiding or abetting in an exhibition of speed at 4:31 p.m.

Assault and battery: 3200 block of Florida Avenue. Battery and exhibiting a firearm were reported at 6:05 p.m.

Commercial burglary: 1400 block of Hilltop Mall Road. A commercial burglary with force was reported at 8:59 p.m.

Armed robbery: 3200 block of Pullman Avenue. A robbery with a firearm was reported at 7:30 p.m.
