Crime incidents and offenses reported by the Richmond Police Department.
Saturday, December 31
Weapons violations: The driver of a gray Infinity led police on a chase through the neighborhood before his vehicle became disabled at 1:30 a.m. Officers made arrests for various offenses, including police evasion, probation, weapons, and drug violations.
Battery: 100 block of South 20th Street. A woman reported her boyfriend hit her at 2:09 a.m. Officers would make arrests for battery and resisting arrest.
Shots fired: 800 block of 23rd Street. Richmond’s gunshot detection system picked up 15 rounds at 2:45 a.m.
Suspicious people: 1400 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Two men with machetes reportedly tried to board an ACTransit bus at 2 p.m. A security guard told responding officers he hadn’t seen anyone with machetes.
Driving under the influence: 3400 block of Blume Drive. A driver was busted for driving while under the influence at 11:39 p.m.
Friday, December 30
Shooting: 900 block of 23rd Street. A man with a gunshot wound to his leg was dropped off at Kaiser by his pals at 5 a.m. When officers investigated the supposed scene of the crime, nearby taqueria employees were unaware of any altercations.
Shots fired: 200 block of 15th Street. Richmond’s gunshot detection system picked up seven rounds in the backyard of a home at 3:55 p.m.
Mental health evaluation request: Civic Center Plaza. Library employees asked police to evaluate a woman having an issue at 3:55 p.m.
Car theft: 1000 block of Lassen Street. A brown Chevy Blazer was reported stolen at 4:46 a.m.
Thursday, December 29
Domestic violence: 3700 block of Garvin Avenue. A man told police his wife hit him at 7:30 p.m. Police would later make an arrest for simple assault.
Petty theft: 12900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police received reports of theft of car parts at 3:34 p.m.
Wednesday, December 28
Physical altercation: 12600 block of San Pablo Avenue. A caller told police a man and woman were fighting at 7-11 at 12:39 a.m. Police ended up making an arrest for kidnapping, battery, and disobeying a court order.
Broken window: 2400 block of Aberdeen Way. A caller reported a man smashed her windows at 1:12 a.m. Officers made an arrest for felony vandalism.
Car theft: 600 block of South 32nd Street. Police made an arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle at 11:30 p.m.
Fraud: 3800 block of Painted Pony Drive. Police made an arrest concerning a theft by false pretenses crime at 3:15 p.m.
Tuesday, December 27
Robbery: 2400 block of Nevin Avenue. A woman reported a friend of a friend threatened her with a knife, pushed her down, and stole her wallet at 2 a.m.
Possible dead body: 200 block of South 21st Street. A woman reported she found someone who appeared deceased at 12:12 p.m.
PJs and tasers: 12500 block of San Pablo Avenue. A woman in her 20s wore pajama pants while she reportedly bothered customers and turned on a taser
at 8 p.m.
Prostitution: 2400 block of Nevin Avenue. A caller reported someone engaging in sex work at 7 p.m.
Monday, December 26
Strong-arm robbery: 5000 block of Cutting Boulevard. A caller reported a strong-arm robbery at 10 p.m.
Battery: 2200 Barret Avenue. A man pumping gas at Arco told police a woman attacked him at 3:14 p.m.
Found car: 2200 Barret Avenue. Police recovered a stolen vehicle at 2 p.m.
Drunk in public: 2400 block of Lancaster Drive. A chemically inconvenienced fellow threatened to light a woman’s house on fire.
Battery: 23rd Street. A caller reported an auto body customer screamed and grabbed him by the neck at 8:31 a.m.
Restraining order violation: 600 block of 39th Street. Someone called 911 to report someone was violating a court order to prevent domestic violence at
8:15 a.m.
Vehicle theft: 100 block of Schooner Court. A vehicle was reportedly taken without the owner’s consent at 1 a.m.
Shots fired: 1900 block of Garvin Avenue. Richmond’s gunshot detection system picked up five rounds at 12:33 a.m. Officers were unable to locate the shooter.
Sunday, December 25
Assault with a deadly weapon: 4200 block of Ohio Avenue. Police investigated an aggravated assault at 11 p.m.
Willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner: 300 block of South 15th Street. A caller reported a housemate fired a shot into the home at 6:20 p.m.
