

Another week brought another wave of stolen cars, armed robberies, and assaults across Richmond. Between July 14 and July 20, 2025, police responded to a steady stream of incidents, including arson, sexual assault, and violent threats. Here is a selection of the crimes, arrests, and public safety calls that kept officers busy.

Joy ride gone wrong: 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. The first of many vehicle thefts was reported at 5:45 a.m.
Five-finger discount: 1200 block of Macdonald Avenue. A caller reported that a petty theft occurred at 9:35 a.m.
Strip and steal: 3100 block of Regatta Boulevard. Vehicle parts were pilfered at 11 a.m.
Expensive vandalism: 5100 block of Wall Avenue. The property was damaged for more than $400 at 1 p.m.
Terror threats: 100 block of 6th Street. Criminal threats combined with property vandalism at 1:08 p.m.
Missing wheels: 1600 block of 25th Street. Another vehicle was taken without the owner’s consent at 5 p.m.
Recovery time: In the 94801 zip code. Police recovered a stolen vehicle at 7 p.m.
Sexual battery: In the 94801 zip code. Inappropriate touching for sexual arousal was reported at 8 p.m.
More expensive damage: In the 94801 zip code. Felony vandalism was reported at 8:19 p.m.
Stolen ride: 2900 block of Gilma Drive. More vehicles disappeared into the underground economy at 8:29 p.m. and again at 10:26 p.m.
Robber gets nabbed: 1000 block of S 47th Street. Police arrested an armed robber at 9:05 p.m.
Drug arrest: 4900 block of Hartnett Avenue. Someone ended up in police custody on narcotics transportation and police evasion charges at 9:05 p.m.

A midnight auto supply: 300 block of W Chanslor Avenue. A suspect tampered with a vehicle at midnight.
Grand theft: 5100 block of Solano Avenue. A significant theft occurred at midnight.
Felony vandalism: 200 block of S 2nd Street. Vandals struck again in the early morning at 12:24 a.m.
Disappearing wheels: 500 block of S 30th Street. Thieves made a vehicle disappear at 6:10 a.m.
Grand theft dawn: 3000 block of Phillips Court. Another significant theft was reported at 7:33 a.m.
Car break: 300 block of Seaview Drive. Auto burglary at 7:48 a.m.
Hilltop heist: Hilltop Drive. Someone pawed through items left in a car at 9:30 a.m.
Stealing cars: 100 block of Santa Fe Avenue. A car thief borrowed a car without the owner’s consent at 9 a.m.
Sexual assault: In the 94801 zip code. A rape by force was reported at 9:30 a.m.
Petty theft: 600 block of S 29th Street. Something was reported stolen at 10:15 a.m.
Roosevelt wreckage: 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Significant property damage happened at 11:40 a.m.
Sixth Street steal: 500 block of 6th Street. Another car, Gone in Sixty Seconds, at 12:04 p.m.
Scuffle: 400 block of 24th Street. Officers responded to a physical altercation at 1:49 p.m.
Court contempt arrest: 800 block of Lassen Street. A court order violation and drug paraphernalia led to an arrest at 3:03 p.m.
Richmond Parkway theft: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Grand theft reported at 5 p.m.
Trespass arrest: 800 block of 7th Street. A trespasser who was said to be under the influence of intoxicating substances refused to leave the property and was arrested at 5:07 p.m.
Court violation: 400 block of 22nd Street. Another contempt of court arrest at 6 p.m.
Indecent exposure: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Someone was underdressed at 8:53 p.m.
Boosted on Bissell: 300 block of W Bissell Avenue. Another vehicle disappeared at 9 p.m.
Atlas Avenue acquisition: 2900 block of Atlas Road. Someone took something that didn’t belong to them at 9 p.m.
Late-night lift: In the 94801 zip code. A car owner was left without a vehicle at 10:40 p.m.
Humboldt heist: 700 block of Humboldt Street. More petty thieving was reported at 11:30 p.m.
Wayward Pines: 600 block of S 37th Street. Officers received multiple ShotSpotter activations and located a gunshot victim at 11:35 p.m.

Automobile misappropriation: 5000 block of Match Court. Someone’s car flew the coop at 1:49 a.m.
Seventh Street vandalism: 900 block of 7th Street. Police took two reports after property was damaged at 3:57 a.m. and 4:12 a.m.
Parts pilfering: In the 94804 zip code. More car parts were found to have been removed in the night at 5:01 a.m.
Humboldt hustle: 700 block of Humboldt Street. More stuff was reported stolen at 5:30 a.m.
Theft from a building: 4000 block of McGlothen Way. Items were misappropriated at 6:18 a.m.
Auto break: 100 block of S 12th Street. A thief broke into a car and stole items at 7 a.m.
Parkway pinch: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Another car was winning at hide-and-seek with its owner at 7:36 a.m.
Tenth Street theft: 700 block of 10th Street. A car was reportedly burgled at 8:48 a.m.
Macdonald melee: 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. Someone was arrested on simple assault charges after some sort of altercation at 9:29 a.m.
Riding the woozy wave: In the 94804 zip code. One driver reportedly committed a hit-and-run and was busted on charges of driving under the influence at 10:05 a.m.
Restraining order violation: 2300 block of Rheem Avenue. Someone was reportedly violating a restraining order at 12:21 p.m.
Strong-arm stick-up: In the 94805 zip code. A robber didn’t need a weapon to ply his trade at 12:42 p.m.
Photo sharing: Visalia Avenue. It was reported that intimate photos were shared without consent at 12:49 p.m.
Grand grab: 800 block of Williams Drive. A major theft was brought to the police’s attention at 12:51 p.m.
Lewd solicitation arrest: 4000 block of Mozart Drive. A person soliciting lewd acts led to a disorderly conduct arrest at 2:53 p.m.
Minor vandalism: 1000 block of Lassen Street. Property under $400 was damaged on a familiar block at 2:58 p.m.
Parkway property damage: 3400 block of Richmond Parkway. Major vandalism was reported to police at 3:51 p.m.
Weapon law violations arrest: 600 block of 9th Street. An arrest was made following incidents involving a deadly weapon assault, a felon possessing a firearm, criminal threats, and brandishing a replica firearm at 6:43 p.m.
San Pablo steal: 10800 block of San Pablo Avenue. Another car was borrowed without permission at 9:17 p.m.
Commercial break-in: 15500 block of San Pablo Avenue. Burglars forced entry into a commercial building at 11:25 p.m.

Morning motor misfortune: 3000 block of Erla Way. Someone’s belongings went missing from their vehicle at 6:15 a.m.
Marine mishap: 500 block of Marine Street. Auto burglars made themselves comfortable in someone’s car at 6:30 a.m.
Home burglary: 3900 block of Jenkins Way. Burglars forced their way into a residence at 7:50 a.m.
Parts pilferer: 900 block of 35th Street. Vehicle parts and accessories vanished at 8:30 a.m.
Vandalism venture: 3300 block of Blume Drive. Property damage exceeding $400 was reported at 11:41 a.m.
Grand grab: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. A grand theft occurred in broad daylight at 12:30 p.m.
Strong-arm arrest: 800 block of 7th Street. Police nabbed a robber after a strong-arm robbery was reported at 12:36 p.m.
Weapon-wielding: In the 94801 zip code. Police made an arrest after a victim was assaulted with a deadly weapon at 2:50 p.m.
Late afternoon theft: 900 block of S 47th Street. Another grand theft was discovered at 4:30 p.m.
Hit-and-run: In the 94804 zip code. A hit-and-run incident resulted in injuries, with child cruelty charges also filed at 5:51 p.m.
Vehicle vanishes: 2400 block of Lancaster Drive. A car was taken without the owner’s consent at 9 p.m.
Battery: 900 block of Nevin Avenue. An altercation was reported at 10:34 p.m.

Dawn discovery: 5100 block of Fallon Avenue. A grand theft was reported in the early morning hours at 3:47 a.m.
San Joaquin swiping: 1600 block of San Joaquin Street. Another grand theft was discovered at 6 a.m.
Hot wheels: 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. A vehicle was stolen at 6:19 a.m.
Indecent incident: 700 block of Dornan Drive. An indecent exposure case was reported at 6:41 a.m.
Double dose of defiance: In the 94801 zip code. Someone was arrested for obstructing officers and disorderly conduct at 8:34 a.m.
Golden Gate grab: 700 block of Golden Gate Avenue. Auto burglary was accompanied by vandalism at 9:21 a.m.
Solano snatch: 5200 block of Solano Avenue. A grand theft was reported at 9:50 a.m.
Petty theft: 1200 block of MacDonald Avenue. Two separate petty thefts occurred at 9:57 a.m. and 11:33 a.m.
Vandal on parole: 4900 block of Hartnett Avenue. Vandalism and a parole violation were reported at the same location between 10 a.m. and 10:35 a.m.
Commercial caper: 3100 block of Garrity Way. A building was burglarized and grand theft reported at 12:19 p.m.
Card con: 800 block of Brookside Drive. Someone used an access card without consent at 1:41 p.m.
Golden Gate break-in: 700 block of Golden Gate Avenue. A residential burglary without force occurred at 1:53 p.m.
Overexposure: 2200 block of Macdonald Avenue. Another indecent exposure incident was reported at 2:45 p.m.
License troubles: The 94801 zip code. Someone was caught driving with a suspended license at 4:06 p.m.
Hilltop heist: 2900 block of Hilltop Mall Road. A leased vehicle was embezzled at 5 p.m.
Macdonald mayhem: 3700 block of MacDonald Avenue. An armed robbery escalated to criminal threats at 5:26 p.m.
Boardwalk bash: Boardwalk Place. Vandalism exceeding $400 was reported at 7:32 p.m.
Criminal threats: 1700 block of Nevin Avenue. Criminal threats were made at 9:00 p.m.
Ohio Avenue altercation: 3700 block of Ohio Avenue. An assault was reported at 9:07 p.m.
Vehicle tampering: 400 block of 6th Street. Vehicle tampering and auto burglary occurred at 9:30 p.m.

Altercation: 100 block of 16th Street. A battery incident occurred at 12:45 a.m.
Shots fired: 2000 block of Potrero Avenue. Gunfire was discharged in a grossly negligent manner at 3:28 a.m.
Vehicle tampering: 2000 block of Chanslor Avenue. Vehicle tampering was reported at 5:00 a.m.
Carjacking: 200 block of 15th Street. An armed carjacking with a firearm occurred at 5:17 a.m.
DUI and drug double: In the 94804 zip code. A driver was arrested for DUI and possessing marijuana for sale at 6:03 a.m.
Unauthorized test drive: 1300 block of Cherry Street. A vehicle was stolen at 6:51 a.m.
Grand theft: 3200 block of Annapolis Avenue. A grand theft was reported at 12:41 p.m.
Court violation: 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. Contempt of court was charged at 4:30 p.m.
Multi-charge: In the 94804 zip code. Multiple charges, including vehicle theft, stolen property possession, prescription forgery, and drug possession for sale, were filed at 4:45 p.m.
Cutting Boulevard confrontation: 5000 block of Cutting Boulevard. A strong-arm robbery occurred at 5:02 p.m.
Arson: In the 94804 zip code. Property was set ablaze at 11:03 p.m. Officers would later arrest the suspected arsonist just after 1 p.m. the next day.

Midnight motorist mishap: In the 94804 zip code. A DUI arrest was made, with the driver also caught operating without a license at 12:59 a.m.
Southampton swipe: 3100 block of Southampton Court. A vehicle was reported stolen at 11:02 a.m.
Auto burglary: 2100 block of Jetty Drive. Auto burglars struck at 11:31 a.m.
Canal confrontation: 1000 block of Canal Boulevard. A battery incident occurred at 1:30 p.m.
Western woes: 500 block of Western Drive. Auto burglary was paired with vandalism at 2:12 p.m.
Minor vandalism: 12200 block of San Pablo Avenue. Minor vandalism was reported at 4:23 p.m.
Strong-arm strike: In the 94806 zip code. A robbery victim was overpowered without weapons at 7:24 p.m.
Property defacement: 4000 block of McGlothen Way. Property defacement was combined with petty theft from a building at 10:35 p.m.
