# What happened in Richmond: attempted murders, armed robberies, and stolen cars

Two attempted murders, three armed robberies and a string of stolen cars were among the incidents Richmond police logged September 7-13\. The log also included domestic violence, burglaries, firearm offenses and other assaults.

### Monday, September 7

**Vehicle recovery:** 3200 block of 32nd Street. Officers recovered a stolen car at midnight.

**Vehicle theft:** 600 block of 42nd Street. A car vanished from the block at 1:48 a.m.

**Aggravated assault:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. An assault was reported at 4:28 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 2800 block of McBryde Avenue. A car went missing at 8:43 a.m.

**Lowell Avenue lift:** 3400 block of Lowell Avenue. A vehicle disappeared from the block at 9:11 a.m.

**Warrant arrest:** 600 block of Banks Drive. An outstanding warrant led to an arrest at 9:15 a.m.

**Vandalism and robbery:** 4300 block of Berk Avenue. A suspect was arrested for vandalism after a midmorning incident also logged as an aggravated assault and strong-arm robbery at 11:06 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 500 block of 3rd Street. A car was reported stolen at 12:46 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** Somewhere in the 94806 ZIP code. An assault was reported at 2:57 p.m.

**Firearm discharge:** 11900 block of San Pablo Avenue. A firearm was discharged at 4:08 p.m.

**Vehicle violation:** 900 block of South 43rd Street. A vehicle-code violation was reported at 6:02 p.m.

### Tuesday, September 8

**Aggravated assault:** 900 block of 23rd Street. A firearm assault was reported at midnight.

**Commercial burglary:** 1000 block of Macdonald Avenue. A suspect was arrested for commercial burglary and vandalism at 1:57 a.m.

**Domestic violence:** Bayside Court. An arrest was made for felony domestic violence and making criminal threats at 4 a.m.

**Commercial burglary:** 700 block of Bissell Avenue. A business was broken into at 7:18 a.m.

**Fraud:** 4100 block of Markovich Court. A fraud-related theft was reported at 7:19 a.m.

**Commercial burglary:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A business break-in was reported at 8:07 a.m.

**Domestic violence:** 1400 block of Gaynor Avenue. A domestic battery was reported at 10:45 a.m.

**Residential burglary:** 400 block of 7th Street. A suspect was arrested for residential burglary at 10:56 a.m.

**Evasion and cruelty:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. An arrest was made for evading police, violating a court order and cruelty at 3:30 p.m.

**Vehicle recovery:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. Officers recovered a stolen vehicle at 4:22 p.m.

**Theft:** 300 block of South 20th Street. A theft was reported at 4:39 p.m.

**Fraud:** 2500 block of Andrade Avenue. A fraud-related theft was reported at 5:36 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 900 block of Nevin Avenue. An assault was reported at 5:42 p.m.

**Disorderly conduct:** 100 block of Macdonald Avenue. An arrest for disorderly conduct was made at 7:05 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 2900 block of Wiswall Drive. A vehicle was taken from the block at 10 p.m.

### Wednesday, September 9

**Firearms and threats:** 800 block of Maine Avenue. A person allegedly made criminal threats while possessing a firearm at midnight.

**Stolen vehicle and drugs:** Marina Way and Macdonald Avenue. A suspect was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle and drug offenses at 12:28 a.m.

**Drug arrest:** 500 block of South 28th Street. Officers found paraphernalia on someone at 12:56 a.m.

**Domestic violence:** 800 block of Humboldt Street. An arrest was made for domestic violence, false imprisonment and kidnapping at 3:02 a.m.

**Drug arrest:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A suspect was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession at 2:39 a.m.

**Drug arrest:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A suspect was arrested for narcotic possession at 3:47 a.m.

**31st Street steal:** 900 block of 31st Street. A car was gone by 6 a.m.

**Criminal threats:** 400 block of C Street. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 7:33 a.m.

**Firearms:** 1300 block of Cherry Street. A firearms violation was reported at 8:21 a.m.

**Commercial burglary:** 2700 block of Giant Highway. A business was broken into at 10:15 a.m.

**Sexual assault:** 2300 block of Aberdeen Way. A sexual assault was reported at 10:24 a.m.

**Drug possession:** 300 block of 25th Street. A resident was caught holding at 12:24 p.m.

**Attempted murder:** 900 block of Nevin Avenue. Police reported an attempted homicide involving a firearm at 12:28 p.m.

**Domestic violence:** Macdonald Avenue. A domestic battery was reported at 3:40 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 2300 block of Wendell Avenue. A car left an empty curb at 4:59 p.m.

**Robbery:** 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. A robbery arrest was made at 6:57 p.m.

**Domestic battery:** 2800 block of Erin Court. A suspect was arrested for domestic battery at 7:56 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 11900 block of San Pablo Avenue. Officers arrested a suspect for assault with a deadly weapon at 8:23 p.m.

**Shots fired:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A firearm was discharged at 8:30 p.m.

### Thursday, September 10

**Bissell boost:** 1200 block of Bissell Avenue. A vehicle was spirited away at 10:52 a.m.

**Armed robbery:** Carlson Boulevard. A robbery involving a firearm was reported at 11:17 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 3800 block of Macdonald Avenue. A car was made off with at 11:43 a.m.

**34th Street swipe:** 400 block of 34th Street. A vehicle disappeared from the block at 12:27 p.m.

**Drug possession:** 1700 block of Regatta Boulevard. A drug violation was reported at 1:18 p.m.

**Firearms arrest:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A suspect was arrested for carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun at 1:24 p.m.

**Child cruelty:** 400 block of South 20th Street. An arrest was made for inflicting injury on a child at 4:35 p.m.

**Residential burglary:** 100 block of 9th Street. A home was broken into at 7:36 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 900 block of Virginia Avenue. An assault and court-order violation were reported at 7:44 p.m.

### Friday, September 11

**Criminal threats:** 500 block of 4th Street. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 1:24 a.m.

**Armed robbery:** Somewhere in the 94804 ZIP code. A robbery involving a firearm was reported at 1:56 a.m.

**DUI arrest:** Nevin Avenue. A driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license at 4:45 a.m.

**Trespassing:** 600 block of 7th Street. A trespassing violation was reported at 10:26 a.m.

**Sexual assault:** 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. A sexual assault was reported at 1:55 p.m.

**Assault and weapons:** 4400 block of Ohio Avenue. An aggravated assault, battery and weapons violation were reported at 4:10 p.m.

**Court violation:** 100 block of 16th Street. A suspect was arrested for violating a court order at 4:46 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 200 block of South 13th Street. A car slipped away sometime before 5:22 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 4800 block of Santa Rita Road. Officers arrested a suspect for assault with a deadly weapon at 5:34 p.m.

**Stoneglen snatch:** 3700 block of Stoneglen North. A vehicle was taken from the block at 7 p.m.

### Saturday, September 12

**Cruelty:** 500 block of 22nd Street. A cruelty violation was reported at midnight.

**Grand theft:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. A suspect was arrested for grand theft at 12:50 a.m.

**Vandalism and assault:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. A vandalism and aggravated assault were reported at 1:20 a.m.

**Power line damage:** 3000 block of Pullman Avenue. A suspect was arrested for damaging power lines, domestic battery and vandalism at 2:24 a.m.

**Battery:** 700 block of Griffin Drive. A battery was reported at 9 a.m.

**Vandalism arrest:** 2300 block of Virginia Avenue. An arrest for vandalism was made at 9:59 a.m.

**Attempted murder:** 4400 block of Jenkins Way. An early-afternoon incident generated five charges: attempted murder with a weapon, domestic battery, false imprisonment, child cruelty and elder or dependent-adult cruelty, at 1:30 p.m.

**Strong-arm robbery:** 3200 block of Pierce Street. A robbery was reported at 4:12 p.m.

**Drug arrest:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. A suspect was arrested for possessing more than an ounce of marijuana at 5 p.m.

**Strong-arm robbery:** 2300 block of Macdonald Avenue. A robbery was reported at 6:10 p.m.

**DUI report:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. An over-the-limit driver was found at 6:25 p.m.

**Armed robbery:** 1700 block of Cutting Boulevard. A robbery involving a weapon and a false-imprisonment charge were reported at 8 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** Scenic Avenue. A car went missing at 9 p.m.

**Criminal threats:** 4400 block of Center Avenue. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 9:11 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 2000 block of Macdonald Avenue. A firearm assault was reported at 11:36 p.m.

### Sunday, September 13

**Vehicle theft:** 1400 block of Dunn Avenue. A vehicle was reported stolen at midnight.

**Evasion and recovery:** Somewhere in the 94801 ZIP code. Officers recovered a stolen vehicle and reported a suspect evading police at 12:59 a.m.

**Shoplifting arrest:** 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. A suspect was arrested for shoplifting at 8:47 a.m.

**Domestic violence:** 600 block of Tewksbury Avenue. An arrest was made for domestic violence at 10:17 a.m.

**Criminal threats:** 400 block of 8th Street. A person was reported for making criminal threats at 12:50 p.m.

**DUI and battery:** 400 block of South 38th Street. A driver reportedly was under the influence, committed battery, and violated a court order around 9 p.m.
