Richmond police logged a packed week of criminal activity from August 4 to 10, 2025, with incidents ranging from armed carjackings and residential burglaries to vandalism sprees and violent assaults. Reports show a steady drumbeat of vehicle thefts across multiple neighborhoods, punctuated by high-profile arrests for weapons violations, domestic violence, and fraud schemes exceeding $400\.

## Monday, August 4, 2025

**Vehicle theft:** 94804 zip code. Someone’s ride was already gone at 8:30 a.m.

**Grand theft:** 700 block of McLaughlin Street. A thief reportedly made off with a prize worth more than pocket change at 8:58 a.m.

**Vandalism:** 2400 block of Macdonald Avenue. Felony level damage worth more than $400 turned the morning sour at 9:30 a.m.

**Vandalism:** 3600 block of Sierra Ridge Avenue. Another round of costly destruction followed at 10:05 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 12200 block of San Pablo Avenue. Someone’s car took a grand unplanned joyride without the owner’s blessing at 10:35 a.m.

**Vandalism:** 1500 block of Mariposa Street. High-dollar property damage made its mark at 11:03 a.m.

**Petty theft:** 400 block of 20th Street. A small-time theft with few details surfaced at 11:23 a.m.

**Weapons violations:** In the 94801 zip code. A felony probationer was caught with a loaded handgun, extra ammunition, and a criminal record that barred them from owning either, and was arrested at 11:50 a.m.

**Vandalism:** 100 block of Broadway. A suspect in a fresh vandalism case was taken into custody at 11:57 a.m.

**Petty theft:** 94801 zip code. Another low-level theft hit the books at noon.

**That target feeling:** 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. A suspected shoplifter was booked for commercial burglary and grand theft shoplifting at 12:12 p.m.

**Commercial burglary:** 2100 block of Meeker Avenue. Burglars hit a commercial building at 3:32 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 900 block of Nevin Avenue. Another car disappeared to an unknown location at 3:40 p.m.

**Vandalism:** 4000 block of Garvin Avenue. Felony vandalism with damage topping $400 was reported at 4:07 p.m.

**Officer involved shooting:** 400 block of First Street. Officers reportedly faced an armed suspect accused of making criminal threats and exhibiting deadly weapons at 5 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 1300 block of Santa Clara Street. A car was taken from its spot without permission at 6:15 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 1200 block of Maine Avenue. Police arrested a suspect after a domestic dispute turned violent, resulting in corporal injury and assault with force at 6:40 p.m.

**Robbery/criminal threats:** A robbery involving a dangerous weapon came with threats at 7 p.m.

**Smash and grab:** 900 block of Nevin Avenue. A vehicle break-in was reported at 8 p.m.

**DUI:** Richmond. Driving under the influence of alcohol was reported, and an arrest was made at 8:06 p.m.

**Aggravated assault:** 700 block of 6th Street. An assault with force and possible great bodily injury was reported at 8:54 p.m

## Tuesday, August 5, 2025

**Aggravated assault**: 2000 block of Stenmark Drive. Officers picked up someone suspected of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and making criminal threats at 12:46 a.m. 

**Warrant arrest**: 2000 block of Macdonald Avenue. A misdemeanor warrant arrest was made at 2:19 a.m. 

**Criminal threats/contempt of court**: 2800 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Someone threatened to commit a crime with the intent to terrorize and also reportedly violated a court order at 3:21 a.m.

**Petty theft**: 2600 block of Hilltop Drive. A theft was reported at 7 a.m.

**Vandalism**: 1000 block of Carlson Boulevard. More felony vandalism with damage exceeding $400 was reported at 9:27 a.m.

**Residential burglary**: 400 block of Key Boulevard. A home break-in was reported at noon.

**Mail theft**: 400 block of Western Drive. A letter thief was at work at 12:05 p.m.

**Weapons violation**: 1300 block of Florida Avenue. An individual was found to have metal knuckles at 12:42 p.m.

**Fraud**: 700 block of Lobos Avenue. Some trickster scammed someone out of more than $400 at 4:10 p.m.

**Petty theft**: 700 block of 40th Street. More unspecified theft was reported at 4:58 p.m.

**Grand theft**: In the 94804 zip code. Another theft not specifically classified was reported at 5 p.m.

**Violating a court order:** 3200 block of Pullman Avenue. Officers arrested someone for violating a court order to prevent domestic violence charges at 6:47 p.m. 

**Probation violation/license violation**: Somewhere in the 94801 zip code. A driver was apprehended for a misdemeanor probation violation and driving with a suspended license for DUI at 7:07 p.m.

**Residential burglary/vandalism**: 2500 block of Hinkley Avenue. A burglar was arrested on destruction of property charges after allegedly forcing entry to a home at 8:10 p.m. 

**Multiple weapons/drugs charges**: 2200 block of Nevin Avenue. A man was sent to the Gray Bar Hotel on a host of charges after a caller told police a man with a gun was making threats at 9:07 p.m. Charges include possession of a loaded handgun, a machine gun, drug for sale, making criminal threats, and domestic battery. 

## Wednesday, August 6, 2025

**Petty theft**: 500 block of Marina Way. Someone was stealing from a building at midnight.

**Drug violation/DUI**: In the 94804 zip code. Transporting controlled substances and driving under the influence of drugs were reported at 2:20 a.m.

**Grand theft**: 900 block of 13th Street. A crook took something expensive at 4:30 a.m.

**Vehicle tampering**: 3500 block of Morningside Drive. Tampering with a vehicle was reported at 4:35 a.m.

**Trespassing**: 12500 block of San Pablo Avenue. A trespassing fellow intentionally entered someone’s property without permission and then maliciously damaged or destroyed something on that property at 6:06 a.m.

**Vehicle recovery**: In the 94801 zip code. A stolen vehicle was recovered at 8:10 a.m.

**Vandalism**: 5500 block of Alameda Avenue. Felony vandalism with damage exceeding $400 was reported at 10:40 a.m.

**Disorderly conduct**: 900 block of 24th Street. A person was loitering on private property at 10:46 a.m.

**Vehicle theft**: 100 block of S 21st Street. A car thief decided a car needed a new owner at 11 a.m.

**Battery**: 200 block of Macdonald Avenue. Some sort of physical altercation was reported at 11:30 a.m.

**Vehicle theft**: 5500 block of Carl Avenue. Another car was lost to the criminal underworld at 11:45 a.m.

**Drug violations**: In the 94801 zip code. Possession of unlawful paraphernalia and controlled substances resulted in an arrest at 12:01 p.m.

**Court violations/vandalism**: 4800 block of Hartnett Avenue. Officers made an arrest after a suspect reportedly disobeyed a court order, committed felony vandalism, and violated parole at 1:06 p.m. 

**Threatening calls**: 3100 block of Southampton Court. It was reported that someone was making annoying telephone calls with obscene or threatening content at 4:08 p.m.

**Assault with a weapon**: 1500 block of Cutting Boulevard. An assault with a deadly weapon was reported at 4:40 p.m.

**Aggravated battery**: Carlson Boulevard. A battery with serious bodily injury was reported at 7:55 p.m.

**Criminal threats**: 800 block of Griffin Drive. An individual threatened to commit a crime with the intent to terrorize at 10 p.m.

**Weapons violation**: 3200 block of Moran Avenue. A gun owner showed off a weapon in a threatening manner at 11:32 p.m.

## Thursday, August 7, 2025

**Grand theft**: 700 block of McLaughlin Street. Things keep disappearing this time at 1:10 a.m.

**Grand theft**: 600 block of S 13th Street. A shady character made off with someone’s vehicle at 5 a.m.

**Vehicle theft**: 600 block of South 30th Street. A car owner learned a stolen car enthusiast had plied their trade at 5 a.m.

**Vandalism**: 1400 block of Kelsey Street. Stuff was vandalized at 9 a.m.

**Petty theft**: 3600 block of Macdonald Avenue. More valuable items disappeared at 9:19 a.m.

**Sex offender violation**: 2300 block of Downer Avenue. A sex offender was busted for failing to register at 9:34 a.m. 

**Vehicle recovery**: In the 94801 zip code. Police found a stolen vehicle at 12:48 p.m.

**Grand theft**: In the 94805 zip code. More stuff disappeared at 1:03 p.m.

**Domestic battery**: 1800 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Battery on spouse/dating partner was reported at 3:08 p.m.

**Aggravated assault**: 1300 block of Fred Jackson Way. Assault with force and possible great bodily injury was reported at 4:27 p.m.

**Criminal threats**: 3900 block of Fleming Avenue. Threatening crime with intent to terrorize was reported at 5:32 p.m.

**Residential burglary**: 200 block of 15th Street. Forced entry residential burglary was reported at 5:41 p.m.

**Petty theft**: 1000 block of Cutting Boulevard. Theft not specifically classified was reported at 7:30 p.m.

**Petty theft**: 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. Theft not specifically classified was reported at 7:30 p.m. An arrest was made for larceny.

## Friday, August 8, 2025

**Petty theft:** 2900 block of Atlas Road. A thief struck in the dead of night, pilfering from a parked vehicle at 1:04 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue. Someone slipped away with a car not their own at 1:36 a.m.

**Child cruelty/domestic violence:** 600 block of S 19th Street. A case involving harm to a child and assault on a partner was reported at 2:25 a.m. An arrest was made for aggravated assault.

**Domestic battery:** Richmond. Violence between partners erupted and was reported at 2:57 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 600 block of 27th Street. Another car vanished without its owner’s say-so at 5:25 a.m.

**Petty theft:** 3000 block of Pullman Avenue. A mystery theft, type unspecified, was logged at 8:26 a.m.

**Vandalism:** 4800 block of Central Avenue. Property damage topping $400 turned a quiet morning into a costly one at 8:56 a.m.

**License violation:** In the 94805 zip code. A driver already sidelined for DUI was caught back behind the wheel at 9:35 a.m. 

**Multiple charges:** 2800 block of Hilltop Mall Road. Someone was arrested after a tangle of serious crimes; burglary, stalking, restraining order violation, mail theft, and criminal threats were reported at 9:43 a.m. 

**Stalking:** 2000 block of Chanslor Avenue. Stalking was reported at 10:25 a.m.

**Carjacking/kidnapping:** The 94801 zip code. A carjacking reportedly escalated into a kidnapping at 10:44 a.m. An arrest was made for robbery.

**Grand theft:** 2800 block of Groom Drive. A significant theft, details scarce, came in at 11:01 a.m.

**Child cruelty:** 600 block of 16th Street. Someone was arrested following allegations of willful harm to a child, possible serious injury, and unsafe firearm storage were reported at noon.

**Vehicle recovery:** 1400 block of Mariposa Street. Police located a stolen vehicle at 2:27 p.m.

**Residential burglary:** 600 block of 36th Street. A break-in at a home was reported at 3 p.m.

**Petty theft:** 3000 block of Belfast Way. Another small-scale theft, time-stamped at 3 p.m.

**Petty theft:** 1000 block of Market Avenue. A rip-off of unspecified goods or property was reported at 5:07 p.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 600 block of S 30th Street. Yet another car was reported stolen at 5:14 p.m.

**Vehicle theft/recovery:** 6000 block of Giant Road. A car was stolen and later recovered at the same spot, both events logged at 5:30 p.m.

**Simple assault:** 900 block of Triangle Court. A domestic dispute spilled into property damage and arrest at 6:30 p.m. 

**Vandalism:** 4100 block of Hilltop Drive. A property damage report came in at 8 p.m.

**Battery/vandalism:** 4800 block of Central Avenue. An arrest was made after a violent confrontation, paired with costly vandalism, was reported at 9:27 p.m.

**Assault with a weapon:** 600 block of Berk Avenue. A weapon, though not a firearm, was used in an attack at 9:16 p.m.

**DUI:** In the 94804 zip code. An impaired driver racked up multiple DUI charges along with driving without a license at 9:41 p.m. 

**Petty theft:** 4100 block of Klose Way. Another unspecified theft was logged at 9:55 p.m.

**Auto burglary:** 2700 block of Moyers Road. A vehicle was broken into at 10 p.m.

**Aggravated battery:** 800 block of Alamo Avenue. A violent attack causing serious injury was reported at 11:11 p.m.

## Saturday, August 9, 2025

**Battery:** West Richmond Avenue. A physical assault was reported right at midnight.

**Vandalism/utility damage:** Cutting Boulevard & Marina Way. Damage to power lines and felony-level vandalism disrupted the area at 7:17 a.m.

**Residential burglary:** 3600 block of Ridgewood Way. A forced-entry break-in rattled residents at 8:34 a.m

**Residential burglary:** 5700 block of Bayview Avenue. Another home break-in was reported at 9:25 a.m.

**Criminal threats:** 3800 block of Lakeside Drive. Threats intended to terrorize were reported at 10:12 a.m.

**Petty theft:** 4500 block of Macdonald Avenue. A theft from a building was reported at 12:43 p.m.

**Weapons violation:** Richmond Parkway & Giant Road. A suspect was seen brandishing a firearm replica at 3:46 p.m

**Weapons violation:** Richmond. A genuine firearm was allegedly displayed at 6:28 p.m.

**Domestic violence:** 2300 block of Aberdeen Way. A partner was accused of inflicting injury in a domestic dispute at 9:16 p.m.

## **Sunday, August 10, 2025**

**Vehicle theft:** 1500 block of Roosevelt Avenue. Another car had vanished without its owner’s blessing and was reported at 8:24 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 1500 block of Chanslor Avenue. A second set of keys wasn’t needed when someone decided to take a car for themselves at 9:02 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 5200 block of Van Fleet Avenue. Another ride disappeared into the morning traffic at 9:51 a.m.

**Fraud over $400:** 3100 block of Garrity Way. A scammer struck, using false pretenses to walk away with more than just change at 10:35 a.m.

**Vehicle theft:** 1700 block of Chanslor Avenue. A familiar scene played out again when another car left without permission at 10 a.m.

**Battery:** 2100 block of Coalinga Avenue. A physical altercation landed on the blotter in the early evening at 5:57 p.m.

**Carjacking with a firearm:** In the 94801 zip code. Armed with a gun, a suspect took a vehicle from their target at 12:30 a.m.

**Auto burglary:** 100 block of West Nevin Avenue. A vehicle break-in resulted in property missing and broken glass at 7:40 p.m.

**Domestic battery:** 700 block of 33rd Street. A dispute between partners turned physical, drawing police intervention at 9:08 p.m.
