Before studying jazz, he focused exclusively on bluegrass, performing with notable groups such as the Kathy Kallick Band, Laurie Lewis, Done Gone, Bangers and Grass, and playing fiddle with High Country—the West Coast’s longest-running traditional bluegrass band. He has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Peter Rowan, David Grisman, and Jerry Garcia. Around 20 years ago, Tom began exploring jazz and co-founded the Missing Man Quartet before forming his current group, *Jazz With Tom Bekeny and Friends*.
